Question: According to a news article run by The Wall Street Journal on January 22, China is pushing for a high-level meeting to ease tension with the United States, and Ambassador Cui Tiankai made proposals through letters on Mr. Yang Jiechi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, visiting the United States. Can you confirm this?

Answer:
This is not true. The Chinese side did not write any letters as mentioned in the report. It is hoped that the media outlet carrying this report will respect the facts and cover China-U.S. relations in an objective and responsible way.

Looks like either: 1. The Chinese are lying. OR 2. Someone is gonna get their side pay from the CIA cut.

But how is pushing for a meeting sounds like begging?
Pretty simple. If I really really want to meet you to work things out, that means I'm requesting you to forgive me and move on. Of course, that is the Western perspective of things.

Just to recap,

1. China just sanctioned 30 US officials one day after they left office, any organization who employs them are subject to restrictions to sanctions from the Chinese Communist Party, this is a direct attack against potential future employment opportunities of these individuals, the CCP is trying their best to damage them personally, an unprecedented attack on American individuals. All the United States has done is pretend nothing happened.

2. Two Canadians are still in a Chinese jail. Their sentences are indefinite.

3. We do not have to rehash what China is doing to Morrison man.

Conclusion, obviously China is begging for a meeting with Uncle Joseph!

That is what ideology is.

:p  :D

Guys. The news that Biden's presidency is going to treat China differently is way too optimistic.the U.S. foreign policy is not going to change. It just got smarter. That's all.

Smarter is true but there is a minor problem though, the USA now as a deck that has lost a lot of the aces that Trump has helpfully played while China quite a number of strong cards to play left over. Also to note is that right now, the USA still has so much in terms of damages and problems that Biden would be hard pressed to fix and if his cancellation of the keystone pipeline and border wall is of any indication, there are going to be lots of jobs lost on his end with very little in terms of compensation (and no, stimulus checks are not going to cut it in the long run). And the USA still is planning to unleash the vaccine on the whole population with most of the people going unwilling to take the vaccine. Also to note is that there are lots of red herrings in regards the vaccine given its quick development and rather opaque testing being done means that there is bound to be a lot of problems down the road. To be honest, Biden is desperately trying to shift focus to Russia while putting to screw China thing on temporary hold while planning to come back to that later. Only problem is that with his age and with everything in the USA wired to blow up (the economic situation will not be solves by the new administration like it or not), he doesn't have much time left.

The sanctions also extend to their families as well; this means pompeo jr is only ever gonna find work in US military-industry

Depends. A lot or maybe even all of the US defense industry companies depend on suppliers who depend on China. Typically they depend on China for rare earth metals; however defense companies like Boeing also have a line of products for civilians such as the 747 and 737 Max series. So, based on these new sanctions, if Pompeo or anyone of the 28 sanctioned officials got hired by them, those corporations can be sanctioned and potentially have their supply cut off and have no access to the Chinese market.
