A new video piece commemorating the first anniversary of CV-17 Shandong of commissioning (12/17/2019) and a quick overview of a couple of milestones achieved by the carrier program:
1. Cv-17 Shandong has completed its maximum rate of take-off and recovery testing program.
2. Liaoning and Shandong have enabled and enhanced China's dual-carrier combat capability
3. Interviews with a few newly-minted carrier-based pilots just out of the new recruitment (from high-school graduates) program.
Interesting tidbits from the interviewees: one pilot named Peng Gaofei died during a six-aircraft flight training mission; another one expressed wishes to be certified for both day and night flight operations before the age of 30. These new pilots appear to be in their mid-20s.
