Both Serbia and Chile's new cases began to go upwards on 17th of February. At this time Chile had 13.31%, Serbia 11.83% received 1st dose, again very few had immunity (2 weeks after 2nd dose). Again vaccination of this small single digit percentage has no effect in preventing new cases.

What is the percentage of people vaccinated in those countries? Without knowing that it is hard to make an estimate.

In the UAE, you are currently seeing about 2,000 cases a day but only 2-3 deaths a day. What we can't tell is data around how many of the 2,000 cases come from vaccinated vs unvaccinated people. I think the number of people fully vaccinated in the UAE is around 50%. The low death rates, (and going lower) have been disclosed to have been the result of vaccinations.

I heard that immunity only becomes a thing at around 80% vaccinated with how fast Corona can spread.

Scratch that, apparently about 60% have gotten the first dose and 20% the second dose. Herd immunity is not close in the UAE.

Didn't some Canadian members warn about this before? But they still insist for having in person classes.

It was @solarz. In Alberta the cases are surging as well, almost 1000/day with half being the UK variant. The schools are still open and probably won't close anytime soon. There is also no further plans for lockdown. In fact the government just announced that by end of June masks won't be mandatory any more. By then only 50% should be vaccines with first shot, so expect cases to spike to like crazy here.

Super power India failing to live up to its part of the deal to supply vaccines and now AstraZeneca is taking legal measures. SII was forced to halt exports as cases started rising in India due to a massive second wave and multiple mutated strains.

Just few months back Indians were gloating that there will be no second wave and that Covid has been defeated . Such articles were quite common then.

India were more busy in supplying vaccines to countries continents away (just to score PR victories) rather than stocking up themselves.

Now they're facing vaccine shortages . Maybe focus less on Paraguay and more on yourself?

This is what happens when you attempt to be a global player when infact you're not even a regional one. Sometimes i wonder from where does this arrogance/delusion come from?

India is an idiotic country.

In order to play the same game that China is playing you must have airtight control of covid inside the country.

That India continued exporting without even eradicating covid is stupid beyond belief.
