Hong Kong University Confirms “Covid-19 Defector Story” As Fake News
The story has been covered on several major western outlets, including Fox News and the Daily Mail. However, an official statement from the University of Hong Kong today states explicitly that her claims are false, and that she held no such research position in the university, being only a “post-doctoral fellow”.

It reads: she “never conducted any research on human-to-human transmission of the novel coronavirus at HKU during December 2019 and January 2020, her central assertion of the said interview”

“We further observe that what she might have emphasised in the reported interview has no scientific basis but resembles hearsay.

HKU does not act on hearsay and we will not further comment on this matter.”

Hospitals in the west don't admit you to stay if you don't have serious conditions. Not like in China where socialism means hospitals have a lot of responsibility. More than 90% of COVID patients in the west are sent home where they infect many other people.

Exactly! Hospitalization is not an easy decision to make at our hospitals. Yet, our hospitals are over-filled. That tells you how many seriously ill patients we actually have.

Again, don’t look at percentages. With so many people sick now, it’s the total number of seriously ill people that counts now.

You sound like you want to teach us about hospitals in the west. Believe me, I know how hospitals in the US work. I have full confidence of our hospitals’ capabilities. We have worked so hard to make sure we have the best medical system in the world. And this is also why I’m worried. I am watching with my own eyes how my colleagues are fast losing every capability we have.

I wonder if the U.S. will let her stay. Even worse shes screwed up her relationship with her husband and career back in HK or China. The sad thing is, had she applied to emigrate in the usual manner, she may have had a chance.

I find the timing interesting. There was zero COVID19 recently related event or incident that would have triggered her decision to ‘defect’. But the new anti terror law was recently passed in HK.

Based on the ridiculous claims she is making, I am pretty confident that she would have been one of the rioters, and probably now fears the consequences of her earlier crimes.

Her story is just a collection of various western MSM lies and BS stitched together and she has offered zero proof to back up her lies.

The fact the her story was given such prominence by the western MSM really speaks to their lack of any kind of standards when it comes to negative stories about China.

She served her purpose, so will be allowed to stay, such is the bargain she struck. She will now just fade away like the other fakes before her. The only way she will return to the limelight is if she catches COVID19 and dies of it; or if some racist decide to target her and she will spin that as her being targeted by Chinese assassins or some similar BS.

It’s funny and fitting that liars and traitors are now most attracted to going to the US from China, with all the most talented people going the other way.

China has effectively banned all foreign nationals from entering China given the COVID19 situation, all the imported infected cases are overseas Chinese fleeing home to avoid the outbreak in their overseas home bases.

I really wonder what the logic is with the Disney World in Florida reopening at this time.

Part of the reason must be that the company is quite confident they can transplant the standards and protocols in place at Shanghai and HK which have been open for quite some time now (I believe 2 months in SH, 1 month in HK).

However, did they take into account the governments' in those localities much more competent response?

Here is an article about Shanghai from May

Funny quote (considering all the "FEAR THE CHINESE GOVERNMENT" stories)
His wife, Xiao Yan, 37, says they weren’t too concerned about the health risks. Shanghai has good doctors and few cases, she says. “When it comes to COVID-19, I trust the government, and I trust Disney,” she explains

Of course they're going to let her stay. To do otherwise would be admitting they made a mistake and the US doesn't make mistakes. She probably make a career bashing China for FOX News like Gordan Chang.
