China should question the security concern of testing a China developed vaccine in Canada, a member of the 5-Eyes. There is no guarantee that Canada will not pass on CanSino's trade secret to other members, especially the US and the UK who are falling behind China in develop Covid-19 vaccines.

More pain for Australia as the Covid 19 bites and the collapse of the international (mainly China) students market. This just goes to show the cost of standing shoulders to shoulders with USA in picking a fight with China. A China that never had a quarrel with you in the first place! The OZ lay their beds and they got to lie in it.

im surprised given the current relationship of the two countries Canadais willing to approve Chinese vaccine. Shouldn't they seek vaccines from their US master Instead

Unfortunately I live here and I know the climate currently is vehemently anti China. The media and politicians blame this on covid which they blame China for in the first place

Eh, I wouldn't really state that all media is anti-Chinese (yet). Aside from the usual crackpots like Bolt and his friends at Sky News, the landscape isn't all that polarised compared to other Western countries and is somewhat sceptical of the "China Flu" blame game.

That being said, it'll depend on how the outbreaks in Victoria and NSW gets dealt with over the next four-five weeks. If infections continue, Stage 4 restrictions will be back and the rhetoric will certainly ramp up. Federal elections are also looming within the next 1.5 years, so there's that to take into account as well.

Nah. I won't even bother to point out the Murdoch and right wing media like Telegraph and sky. But even so called center and left media like smh and abc routinely bash and demonize China. Aus gov going on witch hunt trying to find Chinese influence where there is none or exaggerated. Politicians who say positive stuff on china gets scrutinized and investigated. It's McCarthyism
