Well the artcile dispute that they said that the virus has been circulating a long time and thru series of mutation it can spread thru human human interaction. Wuhan cannot be the place where it jump to human and be the source of virus because it cannot instantly spread thru interaction
well its one article doesn't mean its true, it will be years before we know details of COV19, how it mutate etc etc. Beside most people already belief its origin from wet market including many health worker/expert, so the damage is done already. I think its best to shutdown wild animal market anyway, consider various type of animals cramp into small space, its basically a breeding ground for bacteria/virus.

Maybe you should go back to my post and read it again. I meant to say that it’s the wet markets like the one in Wuhan that have allowed excess contact between wild animals and human, which enhanced the chances of animal-to-human jump of the viruses and eventually led to human-to-human transmission. Maybe the jump of the COVID-19 happened long ago, but the chances are that it happened at a wet market like the one in Wuhan. If we don’t allow the initial animal-to-human jump, the virus would have zero chance of mutating into a form that can transmit among human. Minimizing such markets, be it in Wuhan, Changsha, Shenzhen or Beijing, will greatly reduce the chance of the initial jump. Of course that doesn’t guarantee no animal-to-human jump, but will help minimizing such chance.

I'm watching Donald McNeil, the health reporter for the NYTimes, on TV talking about 40,000 Chinese healthcare workers from all over China mobilized and went to Wuhan. Now they've done their job and went home. He's suggesting the US temporarily hire some of these people because they're hardcore veterans, which some are immune to coronavirus, where in the US, inexperienced med students have been rushed to graduation and are immediately dropped onto the frontlines. He admits Trump will never let that happen.

which some are immune to coronavirus,

That's why serological test, which test antibodies in the blood, should be developed. That will tell us who is immune and can go back to work.

It was mentioned in the BYD video in the Chinese NEV thread that BYD can make 10 million face masks each day now (surgical mask I assume).

Funny story - fake news turns out to be real news (go to the end of the article). Maybe the Italians don't really hate the EU. But they indeed swapped the EU flag for the Chinese one to show their gratitude to China. The picture is not fake. A picture is worth a thousand words. Should we believe our own eyes or your words?

Which show was that on out of interest.

I've seen a few of his interviews and pieces, and he seems to be a no-nonsense kind of person and an actual science and health reporter.

I spent 10 years designing Medical Devices and the means to manufacture them. He's not wrong. Trump just cannot handle facts.

Please note that GM is not building it from scratch. GM's partner, Ventec, is already manufacturing the ventilator in small quantity. GM is to help Ventec to scale it up.

Ford, partnering with GE Healthcare, does not seem to have difficulty doing it.

I am not so sure about that Wet market has been in existence for a long time and still is all over Asia and South east Asia, In fact if you talk about bat the indigineous of North Celebes consider it as delicasy And they have been eaten for generation and still is as we speak now. I never heard any virus outbreak over there

Our abhorence about wild meat market are culturally condition because that what the western culture and media told us.
And I am not so sure you can make connection between wet market and virus outbreak The article DOES NOT SAY THAT IT COME FROM WET MARKET! IT YOUR CONJECTURE!

I dont have any problem with strict regulation of wet market and maybe eating wild meat is culturally not acceptable in western dominated society But that is beside the point!

You are culturaly condition to accept that the virus come from wet market Sofar there is no proof. I concede that it is not acceptable to eat wild meat in western dominated culture and it is abhorrent But sofar they haven't found any hard evidence that the COVID 19 come from Wuhan wet market Some of the first victim of Covid 19 has never been in the wet market . The PRC just closed it to satisfy the popular demand and in the heat of outbreak they just closed it to minimized risk They did said that early on but seem to backtrack latter
Certainly the article clearly debunk the myth that the virus come from wet market!

Ordinarily, I'd be on board with the BSing and FUDing to obfuscate the issue but we're (mostly) among friends here, so we can be honest with ourselves. The virus exploded onto the scene in Wuhan because it evolved in Wuhan. It didn't magic its way from bats or snakes or wherever the hell it came into people, it jumped through sustained and prolonged contact, and wet markets are where that contact occurs. I dislike even calling them "wet markets"; they are disgusting, unsanitary, disease-ridden open-air abattoirs and those who frequent them are degenerate savages. Let me put this bluntly: there are a lot of Chinese people who need to be civilized, by force if need be.

It's the 21st century - this is how meat is sold:
