what is the normal death rate for a 10 mil city?

if we use the avg. death rate in China of 0.7% annually and apply it here:
10 million = 70K annually
Divide that by 12 months, you get 5834 deaths per month.

Lockdown was over 2 months period so that's 11K+ deaths caused by other non-virus reasons.

That's leaves an extra 34K+ deaths for Wuhan in 2 months during the outbreak.

You should include the population of the whole metro area of Wuhan, which is about 19 million.

19 million

ok so its ~20 million x 0.7% = 140K annually. Roughly 12K per month.

so during lockdown, there should 24K deaths due to other non-COVID 19 reasons.

the remaining 21K+ deaths is extra in Wuhan then during the lockdown. Still significantly larger number than the 3K+ official numbers.

I always knew China was under-reporting their COVID-19 numbers. It seems they really under reported with 3000+ deaths. 45,000 cremated remains to handed back to families in Wuhan alone. Of course not all was due to the virus, but a large amount probably was.

Many here will dismiss this as another western propaganda, looking to damage China's image, but the more the govt. continues to lie, they more they damage their own credibility.

With all the tens of thousands cremation done alone in Wuhan alone we may never know the virus true toll on China.

I don't know where they get 45000 which is just estimate based on the 500 urn/day given out by one parlor and then multiply by 7 and multiply by number of day as the number of all those parlor? Seem like guesstimate gone absurd to me Have they seen all 7 parlor busy? any photo? Or just this one parlor is busy? Are they busy 24X7 hr ? And where did they get the number 500 from did they count it or figment of imagination

The Funeral Parlor plans to distribute 500 per day, up to Qingming. This means around 6500 urns throughout this period.

Wuhan has seven Funeral Parlors: if it is calculated that each of them will distribute urns at the same rate as the one in Wuchang, it adds up to an estimated 45,500 urns for the city of Wuhan alone.

You post a pro-Christian Italian source that no one has ever heard of and have the nerve to chastise people about their suspicion of the source you use. Cute.

The source of AsiaNews.it has a religious sponsor that likes to "exaggerate" about history. I've been in lines with 3000+ people in them. It goes further than 200 meters. I checked on Google Earth to measure. How about at least a mile. And that wasn't even single file. Conservative would be one person per meter so that's only 200 people. So what's the number based on? Someone personally counting 45,000 urns at seven different funeral parlors when there's police watching as the article mentions so they happen to not have photos for proof?

"We plan to be producing together over 1,000 units by the end of April and of course with GM's talent and skill, we'll be ramping up to 3,000, 5,000 and 10,000," Ventec Life Systems CEO Chris Kiple said in an exclusive interview with NBC News.
Trump on Friday night invoked the

to order GM to increase production of ventilators as the country grapples with escalating numbers of COVID-19 cases.

"We were just not getting there with GM," Trump said at a news conference.

Earlier in the day, Trump attacked the Detroit automaker in a series of tweets, criticizing it for not moving quickly enough to produce ventilators and requesting “top dollar” for the contract.
“As usual with ‘this’ General Motors, things just never seem to work out,” Trump tweeted. “They said they were going to give us 40,000 much needed Ventilators, ‘very quickly’. Now they are saying it will only be 6000, in late April, and they want top dollar."

GM and Ventec said afterward they were preparing to roll out as many as 10,000 ventilators a month, many of which would be produced on a new assembly line at a GM facility in Indiana.
"Ventec, GM and our supply base have been working around the clock for over a week to meet this urgent need," the companies added in a Friday afternoon statement.
In the interview, Kiple responded to reports that FEMA pulled back from a deal with GM-Ventec after the companies asked for a $1.5 billion contract.

"We provided the government with a range of options, ranging from a thousand units a month to 21,000 units a month and a whole host of pricing that went with that," Kiple said. "So we gave the government a menu of options to present to and just tried to respond to their request for information to say how many can you produce and how fast."
