The benefit of vaccination (mRNA since the study is in Switzerland) against long covid is becoming blurry specifically with regard to the Omicron variants.
From the study,
After Omicron BA.1 infection, the estimated mean symptom number of 0.36 for unvaccinated individuals is even less than the number 0.39 for uninfected controls.
It's as if the Omicron BA.1 infection provides better protection against symptoms of long covid than the vaccinated individual (mRNA) who has not been infected with Covid.
Also the important finding in the conclusion:
Again, the vaccination is referring to mRNA type only.

Why is China's numbers so low? Predictions had them at tens of thousands on a weekly basis.

I never believed those crazy numbers as speculated by those doomsayers. I speculated that China's fatality numbers would be very low because of the emergence of the Omicron variants and the non-existence of the other more lethal Covid variants in China by the end of the Zero Covid policy.
China's neighbor countries Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos reported zero deaths for the last 28 days the day the Hopkins site stopped updating on 3/10/2023. Ditto many other countries around the world (outside of North America and Europe) also reported zero deaths in the 28 days.
Instead of dismissing the data as a kind of anomaly not to be believed and to be ignored, the world health authorities should do an investigation and find out the truth behind those numbers, failing to do so may lead to many more unnecessary deaths in the next coming pandemic.

Researchers from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) have published an eagerly awaited analysis of swabs collected at a seafood market in Wuhan, China, in the early weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic — as well as the underlying data. The international research community has been calling for this information since the beginning of the outbreak. The analysis confirms that swabs from the market — which has long been linked to the start of the pandemic — . This suggests that it’s possible an animal could have been an intermediate host of a virus that spilled over to infect humans. But researchers say the latest findings still fall short of providing definitive proof that SARS-CoV-2 originated from an animal-to-human spillover event.

Alice Hughes, a conservation biologist at the University of Hong Kong, has concerns about the quality of the analysis. As well as genomic fragments from animals including raccoon dogs, Hughes says that the paper identifies genetic material from pandas, mole rats and chimpanzees. Given that killing a panda attracts the death sentence in China, “there is absolutely no way any trace of panda could possibly be in that market”, she says.
