MSM is complete silence about Pfizer and AstraZeneca not being able to prevent a surge in UK even with a high vaccination rate. On the other hand, we have news keep demonizing Sinopharm and Sinovac for being ineffective and doubtful even after WHO approval.

I doubt Pfizer, and Moderna for that matter really has over 90% efficacy rate in real-world results. If it's really over 90%, or even 80% or so, the vaccines' producer would already by now more than happy to broadcast the result if only for bragging right.

Meanwhile, Singapore is allowing its citizen to choose Sinovac over Pfizer or Moderna due to susceptibility to the side effects of the latter two.

There are some studies that do show the 90% efficacy rate for samples in israel and other "work" environments in the US. But of course the virus mutates, antibody degrades, and the interaction of people changes w less face mask/social distancing which may affect the results in the "wild". My guess is there is also less people getting tested these day if they have been vaccinated.

Seven percent efficacy?

Did Uttarakhand's cops get Bharat Biotech's vaccine (Covaxin)? That vaccine was apparently shipped to the state:

"The Hyderabad-based vaccine major, which has come under fire from the Delhi government over supply-related issues, said it has also dispatched Covaxin lots to Kerala and Uttarakhand" (emphasis added)

I was specifically pointing to the real-world results in the population that has been vaccinated so far, not those trials result.

The UK now has more cases compared with June of last year. But the difference is that most of the British have already been vaccinated. The reopening will cause the number of cases to surge into autumn.
