Well when everyone was accusing Nod-Krai of being a filler region for MiHoYo to make more money and they likewise insisted that Nod-Krai was necessary to fill in lore gaps, turns out they weren't kidding.

If Nod Krai was a filler region but it was a major lore bomb compared to Natlan that fundamentally leaks the true nature of Paimon, Teyvat and the Twins. At the same time HSR patch 3.8 is viewed as a transition and filler patch but it packs a lore bomb that shakes what you really know about the MC and the Trailblaze.

Mihoyo's Honkai Star Rail is collaborating with Fortnite, presumably with the characters 刃 (Blade) and Kafka. Personally I'm surprised HSR collab'd before Genshin did.

In other Mihoyo news, Genshin is coming to Steam with the rumored possibility of a free limited 5 star character in Varka to further entice new & returning players. It'll be interesting to see player count in Steam, even though most PC players will stick to the HoyoPlay launcher.

Just as an FYI, a bunch of Chinese games got previewed over the past few days. The ReBlade game looks the most promising.

There's also 枕刀歌 (Pillow Blade Song), which was also previewed in the Bilbili showcase this week. I don't think there's a English localization though.

This one seems the most unique and I'm looking forward to it the most. I like their idea of advancing the Turn-Based JRPG formula with more cinematic presentation. The developer is actually a 3D animation company which made a 3D manhua series with the same name, so they have the experience to execute on this idea well.

I'm disappointed with the naming of Genigod: Nezha - it sounds like a big ripoff of "Genshin" (Geni + God) and Black Myth Wukong. Though they do have some unique gameplay ideas with aerial + souls-like combat.

Nothing too ground breaking. Second game is already being called a Phantom Blade Zero derivative though it looks quite different when you look past the surface. First game has some unique visuals; third game looks like a Souls game but with aerial combat.

I'd like to see more bold, original settings and ideas. The historical fantasy angle is pretty played out by now (but that was the case in Chinese TV as well, yet they kept getting made, so I don't know).
