ZPMC will make ships designed by Norway's Ulstein for the Shanghai Electric Wind Power Group that will be used for the installation of offshore wind turbines.

Notice a trend here how sustainable and green energy is driving a new era in shipbuilding.

Take these as generic samples of some of the work that goes on with the global shipbuilding and refit industry. The videos are also inspiring and relaxing to watch as a bonus, good for de-stress.

Korea takes 45% of the global market share, while China takes 48%. This leaves less than 10% for the rest of the world, where Japan takes 3% for the third place.

Looking at the history behind the 053/054 and 052 lines of frigates and destroyers, it's incredible how far the PLA has come. So many setbacks during the early days in terms of propulsion and tech/missiles. It must feel good after struggling for 70 years and finally getting world-class domestic designs in the 052D and 054A.
