It's also building a full supply chain for XR realm. Speculated to have landed contract with Google here. It bought Dispelix and is developing next generation AR equipment. The Nantong Haimen Advanced Packaging Substrate High-Performance Multilayer Film Project was completed.​

The Nantong Haimen Advanced Packaging Substrate High-Performance Multilayer Film Project has been completed, with its main structure capped successfully, marking the final concrete pour. The smart factory will have an annual production capacity of 600,000 square meters of high-performance built-in film (BUF), featuring two coating lines. This breakthrough product breaks foreign technological monopolies and enables China’s first domestic supply of ABF-type packaging substrate materials critical for securing the integrated circuit industry.

Jiangsu Xingnan Chuangxin Materials Technology Co., Ltd. (a subsidiary of Nanya New Materials Technology Co., Ltd.) is behind the project, specializing in BUF development for advanced IC packaging, including ultra-low loss (XN-L102) and low-loss (XN-L041) materials used in CPUs, GPUs, baseband chips, and RF components.

In March 2024, Nanya New Materials signed a major investment deal in Haimen’s Development Zone under its "Shanghai R&D + Haimen Manufacturing" model. The first phase of the high-end electronic circuit substrate project involves 1.2 billion yuan in investment, focusing on industrializing key IC substrate and copper-clad laminate materials. Nanya New Materials is a leading private Chinese innovator in composite materials, listed on the Sci-Tech Innovation Board since 2020 and recognized as a national "specialized and innovative little giant" enterprise.

Enhancing reliability of 3D portable SSDs by storing redundant data to RRAM cache considering layer-to-layer process variation.​

Abstract​

Solid-state drives (SSDs) are extensively used in various storage scenarios due to their superior device characteristics. However, 3D portable SSDs requiring long-term data storage after power-off face significant data reliability issues stemming from retention loss and layer-to-layer process variation. Data stored on 3D portable SSDs may not be read correctly within just a few days after power-off, leading to severe consequences such as potential loss of critical personal and business information, as well as increased recovery costs. In this paper, we propose a novel RAID scheme called weak-layer-priority and interleaved RAID (WLPI-RAID), which leverages resistive random access memory (RRAM) cache to store redundant parity data after power-off. Therefore, WLPI-RAID effectively addresses the long-term data retention loss problem without incurring additional storage overhead and with minimal impact on normal read/write operations. WLPI-RAID employs a weak-layer-priority strategy to significantly reduce RAID overhead for parity storage, computation, and read/write operations. Furthermore, WLPI-RAID constructs RAID groups in an interleaved manner to prevent early failure of weak layers. Our approach substantially enhances SSD reliability, extending data retention time by 8.1 times compared to solutions that only adopt ECC error correction code (ECC), lasting over a year.
