Micron pulled the same BS against JHICC that that Intel used to bury the NEC x86 clones in the 1980s. Litigation.

The truth is most of Micron's capacity is in Asia, and their leading memory designs are also Asian. Micron bought these for peanuts from Taiwan, and Japan.

The US strongarmed those countries to sell their bankrupt DRAM companies to Micron for peanuts and not to Chinese investors. The US thought this way they would prevent Chinese DRAM's rise. But China just hired the Asian engineers that Micron laid off and made their own designs.

Micron and Jinhua already reached a settlement in 2023,that means the case was over in 2023

Micron Technology reaches a global settlement with Fujian Jinhua

American semiconductor company Micron Technology and Chinese state-owned enterprise Fujian Jinhua have reached a global settlement.

According to Bloomberg, a spokesperson for Micron Technology said in a media email statement Sunday (December 24) that it had reached a global settlement agreement with Fujian Jinhua Integrated Circuit Co., Ltd.

The spokesperson said that "the two companies will each withdraw their lawsuits against each other globally and end all lawsuits between the two parties", but refused to provide more details.

Fujian Jinhua was established in 2016 and was jointly funded by Fujian Electronic Information Group, Jinjiang Energy Investment Group Co., Ltd. and others. Through cooperation with Taiwan Unihua Electronic Technology (UNP), it has established this enterprise specializing in the manufacturing of dynamic random access memory (DRAM) memory.

In December 2017, Micron sued Fujian Jinhua and UMC in a federal court in California, claiming that UMC stole its intellectual property rights, including key DRAM technologies, through Micron's Taiwanese employees, and delivered them to Fujian Jinhua.

Maybe the lawsuit by US DOJ, not by Micron. 2 different cases.
According to Bloomberg, on Tuesday (27th) local time, after a non jury trial, San Francisco District Judge Maxine M. Chesney ruled that Fujian Jinhua was not guilty in the 2018 criminal prosecution of Fujian Jinhua and United Electric for conspiring to steal commercial secrets from Micron. All charges were not substantiated and there was no "economic espionage activity".

Maxine M. Chesney's conclusion is that US prosecutors failed to prove that Fujian Jinhua had stolen proprietary data from the largest storage chip manufacturer in the United States, Micron Technologies, which was reportedly transmitted through Liandian Corporation in manufacturing transactions with Fujian Jinhua.

The U.S. Justice Department in 2018 announced an indictment, opens new tab against state-owned Fujian Jinhua, alleging it stole intellectual property from U.S.-based Micron Technology (MU.O), opens new tab.

No. Fujian Jinhua likey won. Their lawsuit against micron was counter suit against microns initial lawsuit.

Micron went on the attack, Fujian fought back, making micron back off their initial lawsuit

Especially since the US DOJ lost against Fujian, Micron decided to pull back. So semantics doesn't matter. Micron essentially lost their lawsuit.

The Reuters article clearly states JHICC was found not guilty of wrongdoing. Micron lost the case it is as simple as that. And they lost in a US court.
This was the main legal lawsuit. And they lost.

Of course what you got in the Western media, and this video, is how UMC had to fork out money for one of its employees taking some files from his previous job with him. And that they had to comply with US investigations on the matter. But that doesn't mean those files either reached or were used in work they made for JHICC. Or that JHICC asked for this to be done.

They clearly failed to prove that.

World class 12bit 16GSPS 4-channel ADC unveiled. ADC is the crucial IC part in AESA radars/EW/6G/any system that requires fast&precise measurements. They surpassed the previous fastest 12bit ADC from TI

Here’s a more detailed presentation on this ADC chip. Talks about Wassenaar restrictions on ADC, applications in telecom, radar/EW, medical device, AI optical interconnects and instruments. Fabbed and packaged by domestic fabs (likely 28nm), which requires specialized mixed signal 28nm process, not your ordinary logic cmos process

yes, this is very big deal.

Interesting enough, they also talked about a 8-bit 64 GSPS ADC chip that can operate in 29GHz range, also 28nm process. and has started mass production.
