U.S. Doesn't Need Europe's Help in China Trade War
Asian countries such as Vietnam and Indonesia will make better allies in the battle for economic dominance.

Cope harder, boy.
The subheading captures my attention. Yet, there's not a single mention of it, what's the point?

Anyway, the author should know that China's leverage and influence in Asia are far stronger than what they have in Europe, being closer and bigger.

Already forgetting RCEP? It's bigger than CAI for sure.

I don't get the article either, there is no way that indonesia will be allied with the us against China, as indonesia is one of the founder of non-aligned movement and won't abandon its principle especially now when Chinese investments in indonesia increasing and one of the first country to use Sinovac

Another reason why Indonesia will remained non-aligned: West Papua.

Long as Jakarta thinks there's the slightest American or Australian involvement in West Papuan unrest (doesn't have to fire under the smoke, the Indonesians just have to think there is), Indonesia will keep a healthy distance from the Quad.

Keeping West Papua is probably something that Indonesians of all political groups, religion and ethnicities can agree on.

Indonesia has had issues with purchasing US weapons in the past. It is doubtful they would stop having other suppliers be it Russia or China. Just look at Egypt. Even with Uncle Sam giving them weapons essentially for free they got sick of always playing 2nd fiddle to Israel in terms of their air force and went back to buying Russian fighters.

The Australians are trying to find a face saving exit plan from their ill conceived plan to join the china containment plan:

They have learnt nothing, they hope to still get away with harming China's interests whilst benefiting from economic links.

Anglo Australians will learnt to bow and kowtow soon enough, given the shrill, fearful tone of the piece, it's like king Tommen trying to say he's the king and others should follow his orders.

Chinese elite have too much stake in these places. Just like how UK can't do shit to Russian oligarchs.

I have full faith in continuing trade relations because the elite will use average people like us as dogs to bark at the competition.

Everything's about the money.

2020 marked the first year in history that foreign direct investment in China overtook that of the US, according to the UN. China is now the world's largest recipient of foreign companies' investments.

Gordon Chang on suicide watch please.
