Chinese Economics Thread

A must watch. Apple's plummeting sales in Greater China could be Huawei blowback. Made in America can be a toxic brand for nationalistic Chinese consumers. This can be affecting Tesla too. All these can unravel in the stock market.

Hmmm here is something that is also quite interesting. Given the current situation, without stimulus, the USA economy is only so far away before something crashes, and this time it is unavoidable

Great video, but shouldn't this be on America economic thread?

True but I guess the relevance to this thread is that given how much the USA depends on the service sector and how many tourist comes into the country to spread, without these tourist and now with Chinese students, well it just shows a good comparison as to how quickly everything can fall appart

There's also the risk of Apple phones in China being turned into useless bricks if WeChat is banned by the US government, like Trump proposed.

To be honest, I kinda hate Xiaomi and BBK for spamming the low-mid end market with their multiple brands and models. Other than Oneplus, the rest of the sub-brands don't really add much value or have unique properties.

I don't know where to put this, but since it affects Huawei and therefore the Chinese economy. I guess here it is a good place.

Great take on the continuing saga of Huawei. It's been nearly two years. Imagine if this was the other way round? The poster suggest a good reason why US choose to arrest Meng in Canada. It wanted to drag it out so as to give time for the trade war to end. Thus then she can be released. Otherwise if it was any sooner. It wouldn't give time for negotiations to conclude.
