High-resolution Mars surface images taken by Tianwen-1.

Here's Tianwens camera module:

It is said that the resolution of high-res camera carried on Tianwen-1 is 0.7 meter per pixel, if that‘s true, it can track the rover on Mars surface, probably

Vertical landing of Long March 8 reusable rocket expected later this year.
It does not sound that way. The source of the article is from here.

The original words are "长征八号火箭目前在推进融合型研制。姜杰说,未来长征八号火箭将采用两个助推器与芯一级不分离的集束回收方式。同时,长征八号火箭预计将在今年完成垂直起降关键技术的演示验证。"

Translation, "In the mean time, CZ-8 is planned to conduct demonstration and verification of VTVL key technology". What is to be done is "demo of key tech". It does not sound like launching a full rocket. It could be launching and landing the full-sized first stage bundle, or down-scaled first stage bundle. If it was the full rocket test, they would not have used the word "key tech demo&verification".

The wording means LM-8 will NOT be VTVL'ed this year. Just component testing. Sounds like they plan to shut off all thrusters except the one in the middle for landing.

Well, my post was meant to say that the global time article does not confirm CZ-8R (the temporary designation) to be launched in 2021. But that is all I wanted to say. I didn't mean to deny or reject the possibility of CZ-8R to be launched in 2021.

I believe that you meant core stage by "thruster in the middle". You are partially right. I said partially right because the core stage is partially shut down. There are two engines in the core and one engine in each booster. They will shut down one of the two engines in the core.

New 500 ton class hydrolox engine intended for super heavy launch vehicle. Successful full duration half system test (I'm guessing running the turbopumps but not igniting the mix). Most powerful dual combustion chamber rocket engine in the world currently.

Compared to 120 ton staged combustion hydrolox engine (must be YF-100):
3 times more thrust (I understand that as equal to thrust of four YF-100)
3% better specific impulse
25% better thrust to weight ratio:

So in my book that works out to be 309s Isp at sea level, 80 TWR. It's basically a Chinese RD-180, slightly better TWR, slightly worse Isp. Excellent first stage engine for moonshot rocket by any measure.

Mars sample return mission using a two launch profile using a Long March 5 and Long March 3B. Mars orbit rendezvous, basically Chang'e 5 but on a bigger scale. Note that the two halves do not dock in low earth orbit, but rather head separately towards Mars. The lander and ascender combo do not enter Martian orbit but aerobreak directly into a landing.

If all goes well the mission will begin in November 2028 and be completed by September 2031.
