Now we see why the United States sent a few senators to Taiwan in a propaganda show.

The real show will be with ASEAN for all 10 foreign ministers in Chongqing this week.

You know what is kind of interesting. If the foreign minister of the United States, called a meeting with ASEAN, how many would show up?

That is the essential problem right now in the region for the United States. If everyone in ASEAN shows up for a meeting with Blinken, what exactly are they going to talk about? If they are going to talk about nothing, they why even call a meeting.

RCEP moving on!

:p

They can listen to the United States Blinken give a lecture to all the ASEAN members about "China Bad" because "China Bad". Insert a insert a BBC and CNN video clip as irrefutable evidence.
  1. No to Chinese Vaccine
  2. No to Chinese Investment
  3. No to Chinese Aid
  4. No to Chinese Trade
  5. No to Chinese Loan
  6. No to Chinese Technology and Technology Transfer
They will call it United States lecturing ASEAN from a position of Strength.

Easy.

I hate christianity. The colonial disease and tool of supression on our shores during the 19th century. Out with that disease.

Don't hate the Christianity ... it is the people who exploit it for the benefit of a very few people elite.

Nothing wrong at all with the Christianity or any other religions including Muslim .. the people is the culprit

In fact the real Christianity is a very very good, very similar to Buddhist

China needs to crack down on foreign religions especially abrahamic religions. I have witnessed how religious fanaticism takes over the minds of people that it becomes their entire identity.

They equate ancestor veneration as praying to the devil, and religion becomes more important than national affairs. They don't care about anything else as long as it benefits their religion.

This is complex issue.

IMO humans need spirituality. Unless something else comes up, religion will stay.

I bet that if a major global catastrophe happened tomorrow, you would see religion conquering the world, again.

China should set clear rules and regulations on how much influence religion is allowed to have.

Gradually, while in peace, religion will keep declining but it will never disappear

Religion/spirituality serves to give humans a footing in the world, because humans can't accept the theory that we're just meaningless pieces of dust created by random chance.

I'd argue that Chinese culture/confucianism, of ancestor veneration and obligation to one's family/clan/nation is a strong enough force to negate the need for religion.

Even if religion is embraced, it should be decentralised chinese folk religion instead of something that originated overseas. Imagine if one day one day millions of ______ turned against the country because some religious figure said so, as has happened before many times in history.

People are people. There will always be a charismatic person that will manipulate others for selfish gain. This does not necessarily apply only to religion but also to things such as nationalism.

Religion just happens to be one of the oldest and most effective ways to imprint a template of a culture’s values and beliefs onto people. By spreading it, you essentially are trying to copy and reproduce people with a similar frame of mind. Yet not all cultures are equal but each offers its own unique advantages and disadvantages of personal and collective organization which is why I find religion so fascinating.

That said, religion does not necessarily mean worship of the supernatural but is rather a belief system that offers meaning to life and rules to follow. In a sense, many things today would be considered a new religion like SJW's wokeness or Qanon theories but if we go even deeper one can also say money and nationalism are a sort of religion too. After all, money and the nation-state are all fictitious social constructs that don't actually exist in the physical world but are made real by human belief. Yet unlike supernatural religions, people are aware that money and nation-states are abstractions and yet still willingly chose to dedicate their entires lives to the pursuit of those things regardless which shows you how incredible the power of belief truly is.

I've come to realize that faith is important because not believing in anything just leads to a self-destructive mentality which anything providing anything constructive. Many people here find personal meaning and purpose behind the rise and return to greatness of China and which it could be dangerous it is also a wonderful thing too. This need to believe is probably something that is hardwired into our brains as studies have shown that the average person has the mental capability of knowing and remembering around 150 people and so long ago our ancestors learned to use belief in abstractions like religion to unify people together under a larger tribal identity.
