People who emigrate to the West should be taxed on their wealth. Usually this is the capitalist class who made their fortunes on the back of Chinese working class.
"Under President Xi Jinping, ideological control has been tightened as the Communist Party tries to instil patriotism in younger generations and stifle dissent. In May, China passed new regulations tightening party oversight of private schools and restricting foreign players in the sector."

A quote from the article. How is the banning of tutor, after school etc..per the recent regulation interpreted as STIFLE DISSENT. In what way? I am really curious to know how is the legislation being spun by these two ladies with such insidious implication?

Isn't that illegal in China?
@xypher I'm not a Chinese citizen so I don't know their law, BUT I have dealt and met people who are and they hold a 2nd passport as an insurance cause most of them had illegal dealings before. Brother in life sometimes you need to cheat to advance yourself, BUT it depends on how much you can stomach it, greed and ego are two side of the same coin. You have to moderate it and with Xi crackdown it had given them the chance to reflect since they're already benefited and now their focus is to protect their ill gotten wealth.

It is certainly illegal for a foreign citizen entering China on PRC passport. Mainland does not recognize dual-citizenship. The moment one becomes a foreign citizen, his/her PRC passport is considered invalidated right away, in theory.

But the Chinese government couldn't do much about it before because it didn't have the necessary information. It probably didn't care that much either. Not enough incentive. Now things have changed. It is said that the authority has started trying to weed those out with big data mining.

I think the HKSAR allows dual-citizenship so it can be a loophole in this. I don't know if Macau does, too.

Firstly, China doesn't overemphasize defence spending. Compare with other nations, China defence spending is just mediocre. Secondly, China pursues of self-reliance has been forced and it is not by choice. Access to the world supplies chain and making the best products is ideal but not attainable anymore due to the threat of a total ban.

I suggest sending these people a 2-year vacation to America. These people's blind naiveness is beyond laughable.

Edit: Wait, isn't this the same dude who wanted China to obey the US so they can continue trading as if nothing happened? Guy needs to be labeled a traitor if he is.
