Stayed at my aunt's home in Quzhou yesterday. Su-30s from the PLAAF airforce base were passing overhead once every 10-15 minutes from 10:00AM till 6:00PM. The novelty wore off a lot sooner than I thought it would. After 1:00PM the noise -- loud enough to set off car alarms -- was driving me nuts. Sometimes the Su-30s flew as low as 600-800 feet and the whole building shook during the passby.

The 29th Regiment stationed in Quzhou has proximity to both Diaoyu Islands and Taiwan. Given the strategic significance, it is no surprise that they exercise so often.
If you can, could you please snap some pics for us? Thx a lot!

Come on, if the Chinese were so circumspect about showing their MKKs (which aren't even frontline fighters) they wouldn't have flown them over civilian areas.

As for the inverse, I was able to photograph F-22s at Hawaii without a problem.

It's not just the specific type of fighter jets technological data the government are worrying about leaking, it's the information about how often these fighter jets exercise and what type of figther jets stationed around this base will get you in trouble.

Maybe I'm a little paranoid about the government, but I think as Chinese American staying at his aunt house near the airbase taking photos of military jets would not be such a good idea.

If it flies so low why aren 't you getting out your camera and start photographing and share the photos here? :D

Only have my phone so this is the best I've got.

It is pretty difficult trying to film aircraft when you are surrounded by other highrises. I failed to film several other lower passes properly because the planes flew by so quickly.

Nice job siege, I have tried to take pictures of my brother Dan's flyovers in his little Cessna, but that phone is NO help, it is a Motorola Electrify II?
