India is indeed a country. Now that's brainhurtin.
See, that's where you're mistaken. Sure there's region on the map called "India" with the same colour, but that's about as close as it gets to a country. Read what Lee Kuan Yew wrote about India.

I could write a lot more about this, but I have no desire to waste ink in one of tidalwave's threads. Just as an amusing illustration, there was a news story a while back about a shootout in India between two police forces of neighbouring provinces. Now, I get jurisdictional squabbling among regional authorities, but this is the first time I've seen it escalate to an exchange of gunfire.

India is a country in name only.
Official data was 1.3 for 2020. You can say COVID adjusted it artificially but it is still a huge drop compared to other countries.
Link the data. The same sources the World Bank uses.

The number of newborns in China in 2020 was down from 14.65 million in 2019, and China’s total fertility rate of women of childbearing age was 1.3, a relatively low level, according to the results of the seventh national population census released by the National Bureau of Statistics on Tuesday.

You moved the TFR from 1.1-1.2 to 1.3 when I asked you to source it, and your source is a GT article. When the World Bank publishes the 2020 number, I'll take it seriously.
You asked me what I thought it was, which is 1.1-1.2 because I don't trust official Chinese data on a sensitive topic like their low fertility. No, the 1.3 number is official NBS data whether you like it or not. World Bank is just slow on updating their data which is why they're stuck on 2019. Cope.

Cope? Pretty funny from someone advocating going full Handmaid's Tale about this issue. Source the NBS data directly.

You're going to tell me reuters isn't reputable quoting Ning Jizhe, the head of the National Bureau of Statistics. No one is going to scour NBS data in Chinese for you. I thought you were going to leave this thread because it's a waste of time?

So the unofficial source was yourself?
