All is not what it seems within China's High Speed Rail development.

I think now the problem is too many cars. Of course critics are simply swapping arguments.

hehe I guess not many years later, people would start to complain "too many trains"?

I didn't found English version of the following, so take it as a "sidenote":

The Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Train has done (and passed) "newly-reformed-commercial-running" test, and would put mix-speed trains together to serve the public in no time. The so called mix-speed means some would travel at 250km/h, some would travel at 300km/h, with price difference to make public affordable.

July is a good month to start with. (to start with many things... if you are aware)

Edit:
Hmm ... not sure if it's available in PRC ? Trying to suggest China somehow doesn't allow negative news ?
The link you posted cited Shanghai Daily & 21st Century Business Herald as sources. You do know both of these are PRC news outlets, don't you ?

@ Schumacher, we (the Chinese netizens) have seen this trick too often.

@ Spartan:

Of course Chinese netizens know about this! The South China Daily posted at least 20 articles on this already. Ever wondered where most Western reports on negative Chinese news originate from? Chinese sources!

Yup, maybe it's fine if he didn't know about 21st Century Business Herald but just thought it's too funny the guy didn't even know Shanghai Daily is from China. Or maybe he just didn't even read the link he posted himself.

I don't know what is up with Spartan lately. He is usually very objective and balanced in his views. I am not against criticisms of China but criticisms must be well-founded. Otherwise sinodefence won't be any different from ordinary trolling forums.

Perhaps their newspapers havent gotten around to it yet but China has missed out on the rail tender she so desperately wanted the mostest to win. (well as far as her interests in NZrail go anyway)That is to supply Auckland rail with $500million of EMU's.

IMO its a pity personalities got in the way and the Chinese bid was never decided on its merits.

I find this article is a good rebuttal to Zhou Yimin's claims.

There is a revelation that Zhou Yiming has retired in 1998! If that is correct, what Zhou Yiming says is certainly not very credible. Much much water has flowed under the bridge as with regard to China's railway development since then.

That is indeed a good rebuttal.

Actually, I was wondering whether it was available in Chinese (not English) in PRC.

Nonetheless, it is a good point that I overlooked it being from Shanghai Daily. I stand corrected on this issue.

They still have street news vendors in Shanghai. I'm pretty sure I saw a few copies there in 2010.

I was thinking are the Railway officials just going to ignore the accusations?. Good thing now that they respond to it. Not responding to it and just ignoring it can be seen as amounting to admitting to the accusations. :D
