054/A FFG Thread II

FFG-517, also the 39th member of the 054A-class FFG, has been confirmed to be in active service with the PLAN. That means right now, only one 054A remains (currently undergoing sea trials, and should be commissioned soon) until the class is complete.
There will be 40 054As in total. From then on, all focus will be on the 054B FFGs.

We might see more in a future batch as these are available for export, and we sometimes see the PLA making batches of old things (J-11BG). I’d like to see the total reach 50, matching the 056A fleet, and have them dedicated to waters closer to home.
That would be an impressive ASW surface force, and it could be protected by the short 052D’s, and C’s.
That allows all 054B, 052DL and 055 to protect Chinas interests abroad.

How is this news? Do you ever read this forum? We've been tracking these upgraded 054As for more than two years here at Sinodefence Forum (SDF).
Looking at your posting history here, you seem fond of sharing content from the Pakistan Defence Forum (PDF). Please stop doing that. PDF is a very low quality fanboy forum, and by sharing content from PDF, you're actively lowering the quality of SDF, which prides itself on being a professional forum with far higher standards for information dissemination.
In other words, it's highly likely that whatever you read at PDF that you think is new or interesting ––– assuming it isn't some kind of fanboy misinformation ––– isn't actually new or interesting and therefore doesn't deserve to be shared at SDF.

This is nonsensical. These hulls, 522, 523 (not 524) and 537 are newbuilt batch 5 hulls, together with seven other hulls that are all in the water now. They are not being retrofitted with anything.
