YOU are the one making the claim that China is fielding SQUID, therefore YOU need to provide the evidence that it is. It is NOT up to me to prove you wrong; it is up to you to back yourself up. Wrong. SQUID is clearly in the R&D stage right now, with no ability to make any meaningful contributions to sub detection in its current state. In fact the articles which talk about SQUID are hesitant to fully commit to its future ability to become a functional ASW system. To actually make the claim that it is CURRENTLY not only operational but also deployed is a step too far and the claimant therefore acquires the FULL burden of proof needed to back up this claim.

Let me clarify I don't mean SQUID can work by itself but rather a added capability multiplier(if using basketball as analogy SQUID is not a independent all star like kobe bryant but rather a kick out three point dagger shooter like jj reddick , also china leadership seems have a plan wanting to secure SCS by 2022 and usually if there is something the leadership wants it, it usually gets it done, a lot naysayers likes to say china so backward blah blah blah, it can't be done blah blah blah whining and then china usually proves them wrong

From observing China military development, I can say that generally when China publish a technical report they already working on the program for some time
Asking proof for any secret military development is like asking proof of god
It is impossible for secretive and opaque organization like PLAN
We all know that they have "underwater great wall"program for some time I have no doubt that SQUID is part of it. You can believe or not that is up to you
As to Ma he is not the chief engineer of China submarine program He is one of the several lead scientist. So to deduce that there is no rim drive based on what he said or not is nonsensical
We know all navies in the world are working on this holy grail of submarine and China is not exception
