The War in the Ukraine

yes but that is expected. what was not expected was so many attack chopper/Su-25 in the battlefield from Belarus in North to Crimea in South. when you look at pics of Su-30/Su-34/Su-35 they rarely carry any external fuel tanks and lightly loaded relative to there total payload. while Su-25/Attack chopper carry external fuel tanks most of time and are more loaded to there limit. they are carrying more the weight burden.
this video of 2014 from Crimea. that gives idea how long they are preparing for this kind of approach.
Su-30/Su-35 don't have external fuel tank capacity under the wings, so don't search for them. Su-34 have a lot of range without fuel tanks... like other flankers but have the capacity to carry them under wings. Still, fuel tanks are more or less ripped open on high G manoeuver, so jet carrying them have big restriction, way better to be clean and be able to do SAM evading.

I think the game from Russian time has a deadline.

If they don't fninsh the SMO this winter then by next summer the conditions will be less favourable than now.

The USA will manage to gear up the ammunition and weapon production in half year time, during summertime there is less need for fuel, the trenches are more liveable, means harder to find and destroy the enemy.

In -10 celsius is very hard to do maintance without proper heated areas, the days short, electricity needed for lighting.

During summer time all of this is way easier, less need for fuel/electricity , maintanance of equipment possible on field/roadside.

From Russian side there is no real benefit from industrial side, the mibilisation already happened, the industry is on full gear.

So, in the next three month there needs to be a big push from Russian side.

After this winter the odds become less favourable for Russia.
The longer the war goes on the better it is for Russia. Ukraine is 100% dependent on western aid, Russia is not.

People who think Ukraine will get stronger are living in fantasy land. The whole western economy is imploding, yet we're supposed to believe they can continue pumping hundreds of billions into the Ukranian regime.

The main thing for Putin to do is not to b*tch out and be prepared to fight all the way. As a politician I think he has no match in the west, so he is capable of doing it.

Ukraine Can Hold Out Against Russians for Years, Former Ukrainian Soldier Says

As a mention, the UK claims it can train 15,000 Ukrainians every 4 months. NATO claims capacity to train 20,000 Ukrainians in the period of 16 to 18 months, carrying out the training in Poland. The US individually will train 2,500 Ukrainian servicemen per month in Germany, in annual terms 30,000 new soldiers. This adds up to 60-65 thousand new Ukrainian soldiers every 12 months.

"...from his home in Michigan"

Reminds me of all those people who keep asking to invade China but have no intentions of enlisting to be the first ones there.

"We can beat Russia. We stopped them in 2014 and 2015, it was a success,"
As they totally stopped the Little Green Men from taking over Crimea without firing a single shot.

I'm sure they can. The problem is the available manpower, long term effects on the population levels and the economy once the war is over and so on.

Then there is the whole equipment thing. Does Europe even have the capacity to both equip 65.000 a year AND their own forces?

If they loss about 250 a day on average, it's 91500 casualities per year. So 60-65 thousand is not enough... We heard loss at 1000 a day for some periods.

Yeah they need trained troops but they clearly need surviving ones. They need to loss on average less than 180 a day, to be able to continue with 65 thousand trained per years. Just to fill the gap. It's just astonishing and horrible to continue like that. They need to change the way they are fighting to hold Out Against Russians for Years.
