The War in the Ukraine

I find this response to be reflective of what's happening on the ground:
Ukrainians are ready to to return to diplomatic negotiations with Russia
they are always a day late and a dollar short. Until the entire Donbass is done, I don't think the Russians are interested in any talk with Ukrainians. If other big cities Kharkiv falls quickly as is happening in Lysychansk and Severodonetsk, then why would the Russians negotiate? The terms the Russians would offer if they are to negotiate would be extremely harsh and there would be a take it or leave it type of thing. The Russians would want a Ukraine that is completely disarmed and neutral. All the regions with significant Russian speaking population would be allowed to either join Russia or form their independent states. As they say, what you don't get from the battlefield, you won't get in the negotiating table.

A distressing report from the Donbass battlefield: 80% of troops in an Ukrainian elite marine unit have been either killed or wounded. Their replacements arrive with no experience and little training. Very sad to watch:
I would imagine there is very little forces left of the original Donbas Ukrainian contingent that were around before February 24th. The experienced fighters got killed our wounded. That unit is basically combat ineffective. That’s why I believe the reports Ukraine is losing 200-500 soldiers a day in Donbas. They are taking heavy loses and replacing them with Territorial defense forces who only have 2-3 weeks training. By replacing your experienced fighters with poorly trained conscripts it’s means the casualty numbers are about to get even higher. If the numbers are true and Ukraine is losing 1,000 fighters a day I can’t imagine what the Ukrainian military will look like 60-90 days from now with these type of losses.

I guess that this will be a point of no return, should the uk do nothing to save this person, which I bet very much that they will not do, this is going to serve as a very strong example as to the fate of all those foreign troops in the nation should they get caught. The idea that the UK is a strong military nation should have already been dashed if it was’t already. I wonder if the same is install for mercenaries belonging to the USA, if so the blow to Bidens re-election bid is going to be stuff of legends given how this shows just how weak the west has truly become, as in the past, this shouldn’t even be possible

There's nothing the UK can do to change their fate. Even if they recognise DPR, begin talks with them, nothing will change.

It's one thing to be mislead by the media and turn up to the war when the invasion was announced, and another to do what he did. He left one terrorist organisation (YPG) four years ago and joined a foreign army to fight against a people's militia. What a coward. I wonder how much blood he has on his hands? I doubt he had any politicial motives, he is just a murderer who enjoys killing people.

Anyway I don't think he'll be executed, at least because it's more useful to keep him alive. After this war is over the GRU will have a lot of targets in the west to target. Keeping this guy alive is a get out of jail card for a future operative who gets caught. Plus I'd much rather be executed than live the rest of my life in a Russian like Pyatak or Black Dolphin.

I don't like to quote the Ukrainian Pravada because I think it's full of shit, in this case though it's an interesting and complete tone change from "Russians are nearly out of missile and are resorting to cannibalizing washing machines" to "Russians have UNLIMITED resources to throw at us".

Not going to lie "unlimited resources" sounds pretty cool, Palpatine-isk even.
