Replace Oxford-Astrazenica vaccines death with Sinovac or Sinopharm and that vegetable b..ch or a man wouldn't be this rationale or scientifically sound with the explanation. The unfortunate deaths would have been quickly attributed to the "low quality" or worse "deliberate" plans by the Red Commies to kill the heavenly Taiwanese for the eventual takeover of the land and or some other crazy s..t these losers will come up with.

Come to think about, if China did purposely leaked the vaccine, or knowing that they are in a possession of such a game changing bio weapon, they could have easily just used the vaccine in Xinjiang to deal with those pesky terrorists problems and to Taiwan to create instability, panic, and mistrust to their government that Taiwanese people would have called for assistance and help from the mainland which would have been a more desirable scenario compared to forcefully reincorporating the island back.
@Bellum_Romanum bro my brother in law a native born Taiwanese is pro unification but is apolitical, there are a lot of them a silent majority, their concern are mostly about their livelihood cause lately Taiwan economy is shrinking, job opportunity for my nephew is few and far between so he accept a gov't job instead as a geologist. He is lucky, being the only child, he will inherit a lot investment cause my sister a great manager of money and a superb businesswoman having invested a lot in real estate and a tutor school.

No you are not thinking "big picture" enough... its all about using it to paint the biggest most broadest categorical stroke of the brush, so to speak....

This pandemic has affected entire globe, this is not like the first SARs that was localized to China/Asia...
Between 2014 to 2017 the China GDP PPP overtook the USA for first time ever since the Qing dynasty
Circa 2018, China overtook USA as the world's largests trading partner
by end of 2019, it became clear to US that China was not going to sign Plaza Accord 2.0, nor would it kowtow and just let itself be "harvested" by the US/West...

Let me give you an analogy, back couple years ago when Microsoft first came out with the Edge (new IE) browser, they did something controversial they made an ad blocker built in by default... sure it hurt Bing ads revenue but since Google was like 90% of the ad market, it hurt Google even MORE than it hurt Microsoft so by Microsoft's view it was still a net win....

Eventually Microsoft gave up and now the New Edge is using the Google Chromium engine under the hood...

I predict eventually after its all said and done within a decade or two the US will be met with the same outcome despite all the current shenanigans both overt and covert

Is this something to be concerned about? Do we have any good data on sinovac’s efficacy against delta variant ? I assume it less compared to original COVID. Similar to other vaccines.
Sinovac is fine. No reason to worry about it

Vaccine effectivess is being determined by preventing the following in a descending order:

1. Death
2. ICU
3. Hospitalisation
4. Infection

No, there hasn’t been any official results as far as I know… but from the numbers in the article, so far I wouldn’t be too worried yet…

the whole point of the vaccination was to reduce the rate of death and hospitalisation… as stated in the article the majority are asymptotic but they don’t give the actual figures on the hospitalisation so it’s hard to say the effectiveness on this front… as for deaths went from 158 in jan 2021 (before vaccination) to 13 in may 2021 (after vaccination), that’s roughly a 92% reduction…

it needs to be said that these numbers are from frontline workers with the highest risk plus as the article stated they relaxed the prevention measures which is a no no…

anyway the article seems to want to paint a picture of ineffectiveness which is objectively not true from the numbers presented by the article itself…

While the vaccines have prevented mass hospitalizations (for now), we don't know whether or not the infected vaccinated people will experience symptoms akin to that of long haulers. Even asymptomatic people got hit by long haul symptoms. Here is a snippet from the article (

Symptom-free COVID patients could still become long haulers, study shows

A study of nearly 2 million coronavirus patients across the country found that about a quarter developed at least one long-COVID symptom such as “brain fog,” breathing difficulties or high cholesterol 30 days or more after initially testing positive.

However, 19% who never felt sick during their infection later became a long-hauler, as those who go on to experience persistent symptoms for more than four weeks after diagnosis have come to be called.

Meanwhile, about 28% of those who had symptoms but were not hospitalized and 50% of patients who were admitted to the hospital went on to develop long-COVID, according to the

Ask the NBA star, Chris Paul how's the efficacy of the Pfizer vaccine since the man contracted the virus recently which puts his team into a serious limbo and disadvantage in their next round of the playoffs.
