EU must be severely deluded to think China would lift sanctions to salvage a one sided deal . This deal was China doing them a favor not the other way around.
Bro forget these noices. It is simple, China was throwing a bone to the EU with this deal.

German manufacturers are full on supporting the deal. Now if Germany wants to throw it again to score some brownie points then thats on them

China is now a major growth engine that the whole EU depends on in order to grow. If they want to cut China then thats ok, China will probably focus more on its region, with ASEAN getting more economic benefits and in turn influence them to be more China-friendly

The game is being played simultaneously on multiple boards so China could accept the deal not being ratified as it would allow it to make moves in other strategic boards

I still maintain though, that the deal WILL be ratified

Yeah it feels like they're doing it for optics back at home. Once it settles down, they'll pass the deal secretly. Money talks.

This deal is being sabotaged by Pro-America elements in EU. Because currently American companies in China enjoy wayy more privileges than European ones (Thanks to the Phase 1 trade deal).
American corporates wouldn't want EU Companies to get the same privilege as them and level the playing field.

Hence China is least bit concerned. This tussle is in reality between EU & US.

Yes, and soon the US and China will start negotiations for Phase 2 deal lol !!!

EU will be left far far behind the US in terms of trade competitiveness. China has already committed to hundred of billions of guaranteed purchases from the US.

I am sure Biden will like to keep that and even expand that so that he can gain political support from these Republican-leaning states

Biden is literally going to go to these Republicans and shower them with an avalanche of that sweet Chinese money so that he can keep winning the Congress and presidential elections

EU will be left in the dust if it doesn't ratify the deal

IMO this model of guaranteed purchases is very good for China.

It can leverage this so that Biden will want to deal with China so it can keep the Republicans states happy.

Same with the EU. Many people may not know it, but farming subsidies are huge in EU and eat a lot of its "federal" budget (EU's budget not countries). I am sure that EU would love it if it could strike a deal with China to ramp up its purchases so that EU could stop the subsidies and redirect them to other purposes (EU's federalists are always having wet dreams about ending agriculture's subsidies lol)

This way China can use its strength, money, to bind these countries together and to prevent them from taking action against it.

First step is the Phase 1 deal discussions between the US and China trade envoys which will start soon. don't forget that the Phase 1 deal will expire at the end of this year!

If Biden shows that he intends to keep the deal, and even expand it then LoL. It means China will have the US addicted to it buying US products and supporting its people.

Very interesting developments coming up. Btw US midterms coming up in 2022 ;)

In other words anything where the US is not in control of it, it's a threat. Yes the US is afraid China can track money... in China... because then we'll all know where the US in funneling money to people and groups working to undermine China. That's what they're talking about how China will force other countries into using its system. If they want to get money to people and groups in China to help undermine China, they'll have to use China's digital currency system to get it to them aka no privacy.

Far from dying the city is now prospering. Because they built first class universities in Ordos that way the government lure parents to buy cheap apartment for their children education. And I post good comment from Samsara maybe the same guy from PDF

This is western media strategy. Make a rumor and never bother to update the truth. As long as people obtained the first impression based on their rumors, their jobs are done. Who suffered? China did but western people who being fooled also suffered. (Look at the ridiculous behaviors in pandemic in all western countries, insane)

ORDOS, Kangbashi District China -- a Ghost City?, a town in the middle of barren Inner Mongolia deserts, once found itself stuck with rows of newly built but vacant apartment buildings, earning a nationwide reputation as a guicheng, or ghost town. We have worked very hard on this project called | CChina's Largest Ghost City | Ordos Kangbashi District 康巴什区. Over 50 hours of production time. Now the district in the city of Ordos is back. Having sold previously empty apartments, Kangbashi town is building more high-rise complexes. "We're not a ghost town anymore," a local property sales manager said with a laugh. The secret to the reversal of the town's fortunes is the intense competition among high school students, and their parents, to be accepted into China's top universities. Once municipal officials moved some of the city's top schools into Kangbashi, the so-called tiger parents followed and property prices -- along with new investment -- soared.

Yes, it is much better that the US can continue to snoop at all the money transactions which use SWIFT right?

I particularly liked this one.
On 26 February 2012 the Danish newspaper Berlingske reported that US authorities have sufficient control over SWIFT to seize money being transferred between two European Union (EU) countries (Denmark and Germany), since they succeeded in seizing around US$26,000 that was being transferred from a Danish businessman to a German bank. The transaction was automatically routed through the US, possibly because of the USD currency used in the transaction, which is how the United States was able to seize the funds. The money was a payment for a batch of Cuban cigars previously imported to Germany by a German supplier. As justification for the seizure, the U.S. Treasury stated that the Danish businessman had violated the United States embargo against Cuba.

Was Melissa Chan born and bred in China, or was she one of these unfortunate bananas that hates China equally if not more than her Anglo-Saxon masters?
