A majority of Europeans believe America’s political system is broken, that China will be the world’s leading power within a decade, and that Joe Biden will be unable to halt his country’s decline on the world stage, according to a report.

While many welcomed Biden’s victory in November’s US election, more Europeans than not feel that after four years of Donald Trump the US cannot be trusted, according to the study by the European Council on Foreign Relations.

“Europeans like Biden, but they don’t think America will come back as a global leader,” said the thinktank’s director, Mark Leonard. “When George W Bush was president, they were divided about how America should use its power. With Biden entering the White House, they are divided about whether America has power at all.”

Amid a widespread sense of growing Chinese superiority, 79% of those polled in Spain, 72% in Portugal, 72% in Italy and 63% in France said they thought China would overtake the US as the world’s leading superpower within the next decade.

Just over 32% of all respondents – and a startling 53% of respondents in Germany – felt that after voting for Trump, Americans could not be trusted. Only in Hungary and Poland did significantly more people disagree with that view than agree.

Just 10% of those polled saw the US as a “reliable” security partner that would always protect

, while at least 60% in every country polled said they doubted their country could depend on US support in the event of a crisis.

The authors say the geopolitical consequences of this shift are significant: two-thirds of those surveyed said it was now important that Europe look after its own defence, including 72% in Portugal, 71% in Sweden, 70% in France and 69% in Poland.

At least half of respondents in every country surveyed said they would prefer their government to be neutral in a conflict between the US and China. Across the 11 states surveyed, only 23% of respondents thought their country should take Washington’s side against Russia, with 59% preferring to remain neutra

For everybody's benefit, we need a sub thread where all articles and replies that make a mockery of gadget tool's opinions are placed. We can then redirect him to the said thread to avoid having to type out another rebuttal for the thousandth time.

Im finally realizing America presidents are all controlled opposition as part of its 5th generation warfare... the covid chaos meants US gov gets pretext to squeeze its vassals abroad harder for mafia monies aka hegemon tax while internally collapsing the middle class and squeezing and sacrificing the people in order to further consolidate power and prop up the positions of the bankers, too big to fail conglomerates, and 0.1%... but the fact that they benefitted the most from the global pandemic and even US homeland failed response yet get to blame it all on China was just the cherry topping on the cake.

America's downfall is that it was too greedy , didnt want to share, wanted it all, and thus had to overplay a lot of moves

Biden is still talking about OWNING the 21st century, dude cant even own his own memories anymore

LOL, shall China can escalate this into perpetuity? Declare the US a genocidal state that has massacred 140 million natives in the creation of the country, killed 30 million people through its war on terrorism, and responsible for the enslavement deaths of 20 million Africans during the slave trade. Break off diplomatic relations, and cease recognizing the US and only recognize native American tribes as the sovereign and legitimate countries of the occupied territories.

Better yet, stop exports of PPE to the United States immediately, renounce no-first use, formalize the military alliance with Russia, and place Iran, Venezuela, Cuba, and North Korea under the immediate nuclear umbrella.

Dont get ahead of yourself, China needs to start by first

1) up the nuke count from 300 to 3500 or 10000 ( buy some of Russias stockpile as a stop gap if possible)
2) solve its chip fab weakness, taking TW by force if needed, or espoinage, steal as much as possible... whatever it takes
3) Get TW back, by force if needed
4) Sell the DF-41, 17 and 26 to Iran

Then talk about everything else

Or in the meantime enforce rare earth ban (card can only be used once but US is pushing to accelerate hostilities ) and stop all medical exports to US and five eyes, and strictly enforce the unreliable list...

The unify the world against China won't work without a functioning US.

And the only ones willing to send military would be Anglos and the dogs around Asia who we will discipline eventually.

Thought I'm beginning to think the goal now is to use Russia to surround China as well.

China's most important goal is to secure its northern flank. Russia and China must maintain good relations, for the security of both countries. While previously a formal military alliance was probably unnecessary, its probably good time to rethink that calculus. That biden was gonna go hard on Russia is a given, but I think his policy against China will continue to toughen, especially as the nazi americans are also demanding it now.

I think both Russia and China realize that the United States has now become an existential threat to their countries. The benefit is that the chinese american community (including chinese canadians) will began experiencing huge amounts of discrimination. This will degrade american scientific capabilities, as well as create an additional population they will attempt to subjugate. chinese like myself will become the new african americans, as I fully expect shootings and other violent crimes against my people to increase dramatically from the anglos. A loss of both scientific capacity as well as increased focus on internal security will drain america in its confrontation with china. It might not be a huge impact, but it will be an impact nonetheless.
