Not easy to do so, it will take quite some time before China can abandon coal. More than 50% of Chinas power generation is through thermal power plants.
The only alternatives is renewable/nuclear both having its own drawbacks.

Yeah, until energy storage technology improves massively you'll always need some coal. China has very tough environment regulations on coal power and is replacing or retrofitting older generation coal power plants.

I guess all the racist attacks and and full tariffs sanctions on Chinese companies didn’t do dip to white worship. COVID probably didn’t change Chinese mentality. China still has a long way to go.
China isnt alone in this. South Korea, Philippines, Malaysia everywhere this issue persists . Hell, "Fairness creams" are sold worth billions of dollars each year in Countries like India, Pak, Bangladesh etc.
In Asia, Fair skin is considered attractive/pleasant/clean and associated with higher class (In India its associated with caste) and hence you see across the Asian subcontinent people trying to be as pale as possible.
One reason is the influence of western culture. For over a 100 years almost every celebrity, actors, models from West have been white. This created a perception amongst non-whites that Fair skin = Beauty. Try to Google the worlds/ your country most beautiful women , every 9/10 will be fair skinned. This is how perceptions are created.

This disease wont go away any soon.

It really depends on the area. If he visited big cities like Shanghai, Beijing or Guangzhou, people don't even look at him.

Hope Asia becomes more woke after COVID. We must thank President Trump for being openly racist, instead of sneaky ass racist.

When was this projection modeled?

One thing that's does not look like is in the graph is the devaluation of the USD and appreciation of RMB.

IMF forecasts its own exchange rate, which may or may not be the final exchange rate at the end of the day. To help you visualize this:

I can see US rack up a lot more debt in the next 4 years under Biden resulting in further dollar decline.

God forbid dollar declines 50% by 2025.

If by 2025, dollar declines 20-30%, that's a 20-30% boost in nominal GDP to China.

Remember, the 25% tariffs have shown that China can handle a 20-30% appreciation in the Yuan. Chinese will simply invest in poorer countries, automate more and move up the value chain.

Trump helped Chinese realize just how innovative they can be.
