I think the strategy will be
Not thinking much about China for the first year. Or probably try to have more trade deal with China presumably with some good numbers focusing on agriproducts, company access, ip protection that can be a selling point for midterm.
Also read that Biden strategy to counter China as we might have heard is to gather allies.
Hi caudaceus,

My take, a PAUSE, then a reset will happen on 2022 IF Democrat win both the house and the senate regarding the tariff, but the ban on 5G chips and semi equipment will remain.

China will be fine if the best they can do is invite some old tibetan exile, visit Taiwan with some official, ban some rando Chinese companies.

Say hypothetically, Biden seeks to "gather the allies". First, will they be responsive? Second, China isn't a direct threat to any nation, will they choose sides? Third, China can counter with soft-power in it's own game (RCEP, OBOR/BRI, AIIB, etc...) so I feel China will be fine. After Trump, China will compete with more rigor now, that's all China needs.

US can't even contain COVID, how can they contain China, an ancient civilization with 1/5 of humanity? It's wishful thinking from those old white neocon farts, China's rise is unstoppable by any combination of allies or friends US can muster. China isn't the Soviet Union.

Sometimes I wonder, is this a Chinese thing? Why dies China be so unfortunate to have so many Hanjians in their ranks? And the West BS trying to make Chen more creditable calling him a blind "lawyer" activist. The fact he's not a qualified lawyer is irrelevant.

Chinese Dissidents Back Trump’s Claims of Election FraudSome influential activists who support the president’s policies on Beijing want to hold off on recognizing Biden as the president-elect

HONG KONG—Some of China’s most influential dissidents and human-rights activists based in the U.S., who approve of the Trump administration’s tough line on Beijing, have come out in support of the president’s unsubstantiated allegations of widespread U.S. election fraud.

Blind legal activist Chen Guangcheng has tweeted prolifically claiming Mr. Trump won the election. Religious leader Bob Fu supports the allegations of attorney Sidney Powell, who has claimed “communist money” from Cuba and China rigged the election.

And Wang Dan, a leader of the 1989 student demonstrations in Tiananmen Square, has said he wants to hold off recognizing Joe Biden as president-elect and criticized the media for what he calls biased reporting.

I mean, it's very disappointing, but lots of people are selfish. A lot of Koreans collaborated with Japanese when Japan colonized Korea, exploiting their own countrymen.

Big Update 2.0!

Biden has selected Janet Yellen as Treasury Secretary to replace Steve Mnuchin. Yellen is an Obama-era veteran and former Chair of Federal Reserve. She will be heavily involved in future trade war negotiations with Honorable Liu He by virtue of her role.

  • Janet Yellen does not believe there are unfair trade practices in China, China is not responsible for trade deficit with US, and will likely end the trade war.
    • “I do not see unfair trade practices in China, or anywhere else in the world, as what is responsible for the US trade deficit,” said Yellen. “The US trade deficit reflects the fact that Americans spend more than we produce, and we import excess goods and services from the rest of the world to satisfy that demand.” -

  • Janet Yellen is against bi-furcation of the tech world, one lead by US, one lead by China, because it can slow and hurt technological advancement.
    • "Technologies developed in one place of the world need to be and can be applied throughout the world, and become the base for further progress of technological innovation," she said. "Losing those synergies" would be a very negative development. "I hope we will not go there," Yellen said. -

So Janet Yellen does not view China as unfair trader and is against the trade war. I am super cautious as you are all, but these are slightly good signs. Liu He should not underestimate Yellen or Biden of course, the nation's prosperity is too important.

What the heck is "Cuban communist money"?!

Havana barely has a leaky, repurposed terra cotta plant pot to p*ss in, and ditto for Caracas.

That's a big see saw. On the other hand, Americans are told China's conducting unfair trade practices. And they're now going to be told China isn't responsible for unfair trade, and everything's going back to normal. If I were American, I wouldn't know what to believe anymore.

They are just buzz words for playing into the existing fear of republican Latino supporters . Republican party has gained a lot of Latino supporters who immigrated due to socialism especially in Florida. Communist Cuba is stealing the US election, a claim that can effectively rally former political migrants.
