Over at DFI the Indians say it shows that Chinese soldiers are weak and can't carry things.
Yeah right. This is the thing people always say. It's like the people without 5th generation aircraft. They always say we don't need 5th gen. Our 4.5+++ super duper is better, than secretly working or wishing to get they hands on a 5th gen aircraft.
I hear people said the same about football, when their team is in the 2nd tier. They always say our league is the best, we don't need to be up there with the big boys. But secretly wishing to be champions in their league so they can be up there with the........ big boys! Lol
So the Indians are giveing the Tibetan work, during the covid crisis, and ensure they maintain exercise and a healthy living.
But as soon as they could afford the drones, bye bye Tibetans.
Or, giving the local population is not fond of the Indian Army, are the civilians encouraged to volunteer?

It reminds me of how China used to insult U.S. soldiers as spoiled brats because they ate meat for every meal.

I think the main point of those kinds of insults were not to say it is a bad thing to have good logistics and supplies, but rather that US soldier's combat effectiveness suffers significantly if they are not backed with overwhelming superiority in ammunition and food. Of course it is always desirable to have strong logistics supporting your army, but an army also need to be trained to know how to survive and fight when when they are low on ammunition and supplies.
Kinda like in a game, a good player should make any equipment work, regardless of its effectiveness. A good player should not just give up if he or she cannot find the best gear in the game. The same applies to a army, of course every army can fight under ideal conditions, but what if conditions are not ideal? Those harsh conditions are what tests the true capabilities of a military.
Since the foundation of the PLA, every major conflict it has fought in (with the only exception of Vietnam in 1979), the PLA is almost always on the disadvantaged side in terms of industrial and logistical capabilities. But it still overcame such obstacles and prevailed. So it is not a invalid criticism of the US military. America has not really fought any major conflict where they do not enjoy dominance in firepower superiority and industrial capability, what if America cannot dominate in these two areas in the next major conflict? Are they still a formidable force like previously? It is a valid question to ask. A level 99 player with the best gear in the game can always beat up level 1s with no gear in a game, but what if this time the level 99 faces a level 75 player with similar gear? Will it still perform just as well? It is really hard to tell.
On a related point about how on the Indian side, they use local villagers to carry supplies and PLA uses more high tech stuff. This "they have the support of the people so why is it a bad thing" mentality does not apply here imo, because this is not a civil war where 2 opposing forces fight for influence within a selected geographical location where the support of the people matters. These are two separate countries having a military stand-off at the border, the Indian people are supposed to be supporting their military (same goes to the Chinese side)... meaning that if you see Indian people supporting their military, that is kind of what they supposed to do, it is not like a bonus point or something. So the comparison is not about which country has the support of its citizens, but rather how well can the military in the front line be supplied... and in this case, replying on local villagers is just kind of sad. I know that the PLA was supplied in this exact manner during the Chinese Civil War, but China back then was not industrialized at all, and that was the only way possible (to have hundreds of thousands of local villagers sending supplies to the Florentine in small carts and cattle). But India today still rely on local villagers to carry up some of the supplies, it really is nothing to be proud off.... Unless they can beat China with the villagers as their supply line...
