The latest round of propaganda is so nonsensical that even rational Indian members on PDF are embarrassed by it.

Rafale can counter China’s premier fighter jet Chengdu J-20

"Rafale is far superior to the J-20, the Chengdu fighter of China. Even though it’s believed to be a 5th generation fighter, it is probably at best a 3.5 generation aircraft. It's got a third generation engine as we have in the Sukhoi," said Air Marshal R Nambiar (retd) who flight tested the Rafale fighter jets for India.

The stealth characteristics of the J-20 are also under suspicion, say experts based on several analysis done by the Indian Air Force. The J-20 was hyped to be a highly stealthy aircraft and that it could conceal itself in operations and not be easily detected.

J-20 weapons system no match for Rafale

Experts say if the J-20 was the best, why would the Chinese go for the Russian Su35. But the Russian jets too might not be able to compete with the Rafale.
"Su35 is also no match to the Rafale with its weapons, superior sensors and fully integrated architecture. The capability to super cruise even with four missiles, stealth characteristics all put together make the Rafale far more potent than Su35," Nambiar added.
The J-20 uses the same engine as Su30. But the Rafale engine is better in terms of reliability, longevity and maintainability.

Superior combat abilities

“It can lift load up to 1.5 times its weight, which means it can carry weapons and fuel much more capacity than the J-20,” said an IAF official.

The biggest difference is that Rafale is an omni-role aircraft. It can carry out at least four missions in one sortie while the J-20 cannot carry out multiple missions is one go.

The Rafale is battle hardened and has been used in Afghanistan, Libya and Syria while the J-20 has not been part of any action. Also, the meteor missile in Rafale makes it far more potent than the J-20 or the Su30.

Other than the HAMMER, which is a last minute addition, the fighter jet is armed with potent meteor and scalp missiles that will enhance air strike capabilities and air dominance of the Indian Air Force.

The meteor is a beyond visual range long air-to-air missile with a range of 150 km. Scalp is a long-range cruise missile with a range of 200 km that can be launched from the aircraft for deep strikes to hit fixed and stationary targets in land or water.

Rafale will also have the MICA missiles that can be used both for visual and beyond range air-to-air interception and air-to-ground strikes.
Example of Indian troll army in comments on this video of a Chinese helmet defeating just about every reasonable projectile fired directly at it from close range despite helmets being designed for shrapnel and resisting lower energies. The top Indian troll comments read like they didn't even watch the video where the helmet only fails to stop some serious rounds after taking several hits. Same guy did Russian and American helmets which also failed towards the end.

This is the caliber of Indians. Some guy even referenced the Ladakh conflict and claims PLA suffered at the hands of jai hinds and China couldn't accept the losses or publicize it. The same PLA that returned dozens of IA who surrendered. These clowns are shouting and posturing for a war and doing everything to aggravate EXCEPT actually fight it. Absolute pathetic losers. App ban sissy army of India, you can give them 500 Rafales and the best they can do would be lose them all, write it off using various lies and propaganda, then ban more Chinese products. Can't wait for these morons to jerk each other to the point they believe their own bullshit and start shooting - an excellent chance for the PLA to reduce the Indian military to a population of zero and get some much needed practice. The world should not need to tolerate Indian lying scumbags. Man who lies for you will lie against you but to be honest India's got no hope of ever challenging any dominant power and never has in history so we'll probably never get to see a day where India gets antagonised the same way even Iran has been by US/Israel.
As ridiculous as the Indian trolls and mainstream media sounds, I am certain the Modi government and the Indian military knows how large of a discrepancy there really is between the China and India. One does not simply respond to the killings of 20 to 50 Indian soldiers and 60+ captured by denying a Chinese intrusion took place at all in spite of the overwhelming evidence to the contrary. The fact Modi did not even mention the word China once in his speech really shows you that he was shocked and honestly paralyzed after the June 15 incident. Even today, when the PLA controls large swaths of disputed territory previously on the Indian side of the LAC, the Modi government has already ruled out the use of force and instead to wait out the Chinese (and of course the "commander talks"). If the mighty Indian military was really as strong as these idiot commentators and trolls claim it to be, then why should India cower at such Chinese intrusions and occupation of its perceived territory? Indeed a superior or even equal military power would have harshly demanded a withdrawal, or at least constantly pressuring the opposing party in public statements. It really does not take much deduction to see how large the military gap is between the Chinese and the Indians from these actions alone.

First of all, I wouldn't term it as "Chinese intrusion". These lands were always disputed and no man's land ever since the British created the nation of India and demarcated some of its borders unilaterally. Hint, India as a modern nation only existed since the independence from Britain and its "British India". Prior to this point in the mid 20th century, India was a collections of smaller independent states, with thousand years of rule by Muslims and a collection of states known as Bharat/Bharath.

Chinese haven't "intruded" in 2020 otherwise it can also be said that India's been intruding into China since the 1950s. Both sides dispute the land borders in no man's land so neither can call it intrusions when the dispute was ongoing. China now has merely decided to respond to Indian aggression and escalations in 2017 to 2019 - already covered multiple times in this thread alone. It responded by unilaterally moving to where China considers the actual borders lie in this disputed region. India totally unable to challenge China's military alone is receiving a dose of its own medicine (using its military against neighbours).

Mind you China's claimed borders run along the half way stretch, generously giving India rights to the other half ever since the 1950s. This kindness has never been given a shred of respect or attention and India has since the beginning claimed the entire chunk of no man's land. If China were Sikkim or Goa, India would have sent their military to rape and murder their way to annexation like they did with Sikkim and Goa in the 20th century and what they're doing now in Kashmir. Hopefully China's movements have slowed or stopped Indian ambitions in Kashmir. India's also slowly been eroding Nepal's borders and salami slicing Nepal the same way they treated China in the past. Nepal is also fed up and creating some noise about it, to the absolute silence and indifference from the West. Of course Modi being the West's useful idiot in the region means propaganda stands with India and Modi's hilariously incompetent almost Nazi like regime.

Yes the Indian leaders know what's what and have decided to go along with China's claims. They're lucky the CCP is freakin nice to stick with the old Chinese claims to the half way lines. What the CCP should do is not just take up all of no man's land but also intrude into India. They're enemies anyway so why give them any kindness? If the positions were reversed, India would have invaded all of Tibet by now. China should invade India, liberate Punjab and Kashmir and work towards separating Kerala from the the remainder to India then chop the chicken's neck and give sovereignty to Nepal and Bhutan the long thin slice. Eventually most of north east India can work towards being a part of Bangladesh as the economy falters and unity collapses. India's dreams of slicing China should be returned 100 fold. Slowly we need to reset India back to a collection of independent states with peripherals going to neighbouring nations, Kerala becoming independent and central India that remains as the nation that can no longer use its incompetence to impoverish over 1 billion people while dragging South Asia down with them, and creating non stop trouble for China on behalf of Washington, London, and Tel Aviv.

There is this very familiar feeling about the Indian reaction to Rafales that I couldn’t quite place until earlier today — they are reacting pretty much the same way the Chinese did when the J-20 was revealed. The key difference here being that China was celebrating a leap in domestic capabilities whereas India is celebrating an imported fighter.

I wonder if something similar will happen when acquired Su-57 or F-35 land in India?

Not only that, China was celebrating catching up with world No.1 USA. Whereas India is celebrating anything to do with china.

Here is the comparison in infrastructure development between India and China As I said before most Chinese airport are dual function and they are Buidling underground depot and shelter now . Lhasa - Shigatse railway is completed in 2018 Lhasa-Nyingchi Railway should be completed the end of this years

Key infrastructure along India-China border

Key infrastructure along India-China border
Since 2016, China has upped the stakes by increasing connectivity to areas near its boundary with India, Bhutan and Nepal.

It is working on linking the old Xinjiang-Tibet Road to National Highway G219, which runs along almost the entire China-India border. A concrete road between Medog and Zayu near India's Arunachal Pradesh state - which China claims - will be completed by the end of this year.

There is also a new rail line under construction connecting Shigatse - the second largest city in Tibet - to Chengdu via Nyingchi, close to the Indian border.

Another rail link is planned between Shigatse and Yadong, a trading centre next to

China has built high-speed rail lines in Tibet despite the treacherous terrain

China has built high-speed rail lines in Tibet despite the treacherous terrain
China has around a dozen airfields facing India, with five of them being dual-use airports in Tibet, meaning for both civilian and military purposes.

It is building three new airports there and upgrading Shigatse, Ngari Gunsa and Lhasa's all-weather Gonggar airport by adding underground shelters and new runways.

A surface-to-air missile battery and advanced fighter jets are reportedly deployed at Ngari Gunsa airfield, which is located 4,274m (14,022) feet above sea level, about 200km from Pangong Lake.

In terms of air power, military experts say India has a relative advantage, as China's bases are generally further from the LAC and at higher altitudes, where the thinner air means jets can carry less fuel and payload.

Suspicions over border infrastructure
These infrastructure improvements on both sides are designed with one primary purpose - to allow the fast movement of troops and military hardware to the border in case of a full-scale conflict.

"When these ambitious infrastructure projects eventually are completed, large numbers of Indian forces will be able to move more freely within certain critical sub-theatres without fear of being crippled or physically blocked," noted a 2019 study by the Centre for a New American Security.

India long held back from extensive development, believing that improving infrastructure on its side of the border would facilitate Chinese movement inside Indian territory in the event of a conflict. But it is moving away from that reasoning.

The two countries have fought only one war, in 1962, when India suffered a humiliating defeat.

Rajeswari Pillai, a fellow at Observer Research Foundation, described India's infrastructure building as "primarily a defensive response because China's infrastructure represents a threat, as it can permit the Chinese army to engage in offensive operations and allows it to rapidly concentrate forces at any point where there is a dispute".

"India's poor infrastructure has meant that it has always had difficulties in defending against China's encroachments," Ms Pillai said.

This is also an overreaction to compensate for the complete implosion of the much touted Russo-Indo joint FGFA stealth project, you know the one that can slay F-35s and J-20s in it's sleep?

The Indian nationalists have to overstate the capabilities of Rafale to erase all memories of the much fabled lost project, esp. since HAL AMCA is nowhere to be seen and US won't sell F-35s to them.
