They were referring to 5 magnetron sputtering coating machines for DUV optics not 5 DUV scanners, each machine should be enough for coating many DUV optics. So 5 coaters probably sufficient for at least 50 additional DUVs? Unlike euv coating, the bulk of DUV coating is done with IBS, not magnetron sputtering. So they need a lot more IBS coaters from the other company I posted

Also this aligns with Beijing Yandong fab mass producing 28nm process in 2026H2 with fully domestic equipment.

And Beijing Guowang announcing they have component orders for 5 DUV machines this year
just so that we are all on the same page here. When the Guowang news came out earlier this year, it was for magnetron sputtering coating machines for DUV optics (assuming @interestedseal is correct here).

alright, so they are saying this is Yuliangsheng, the SiCarrier affiliated one.

And CXMT is one of the initial customers.

Since I am coming back after quite some time, tp can you say who are the DUV manufacturers apart from Yuliangsheng and SMEE. And what is the current rate of production per year.

I don't think "SMEE" exist as was before. The company was divested in two companies. One is AMIES <low end lithography machines> and the other company will only do High End FrontEnd Lithography machines.

I don't think "SMEE" exist as was before. The company was divested in two companies. One is AMIES <low end lithography machines> and the other company will only do High End FrontEnd Lithography machines.

The basic story from what I’ve been able to gather seems to be that SMEE and Yuliangsheng are partnering on the SSA800 and SSA900 right now because SMEE struggled on the final validation/verification process. It’s why for that first year after initial completion of the project we heard that they had delivered some instruments but customers weren’t happy with it and didn’t want to use it.

I wouldn't be surprised if SMEE is Yuliangsheng and part of the same SMIC-Huawei Consortium.
