thought I might post here about an interesting 'the UK connection' from
Navy Stands Up Columbia Submarine Office, Key to Nuclear Triad
    :

"The new PEO office, to be run by Rear Adm. Scott Pappano, will not replace the current program manager shop overseeing the design and build of the Columbia. Instead, Pappano will be responsible for working with the UK on commonality between the Columbia and the nascent Dreadnought submarine program, while focusing on the “strategic systems portfolio, planning for tests, building facilities, all the things besides managing the day to day design and construction,” of the subs, Geurts said."

I find it interesting the Russians would risk the Admiral Gorshkov on a mission like this.

Barrow is such a run down town very poor

amazing they build some of the most advanced SSN there

RN amphibious forces are looking at 2 x off shore amphibious vessels to add to their fleet

this would give them the 2 carrier geared for littoral missions plus HMS Bulwark and Albion LPDS and 3 x Bay Class from RFA

thats 9 warships al large for amphibious assault very modern and very capable

if only they could have retained the HMS Ocean to provide ASW screen

    thats pretty impressive
