and now quit reading https://navaltoday.com/2019/02/25/f...yal-navys-new-littoral-strike-ships-unveiled/ right after "British risk advisory company Prevail Partners has unveiled its proposal for the Royal Navy’s two new littoral strike ships ..."

A littoral strike ship is basically a commercial LPH on the cheap. I don't understand the UK defence body. They can't afford to maintain HMS Ocean and flogged it off to Brazil. A year after that disposal they do a political spin on why they want a littoral strike ship. Somebody should ask them why did they disposed HMS Ocean in the first place and if they can't afford to maintain that one how are they able to maintain two. Looks more like some political payoff to Prevail Partners.

Off board decoys are part of the counter measures deployed against ASCM. They create electronic signatures that mimic whatever signals they choose including aircraft carriers. The USN adopts the Nulka decoy system which is an Australian invention. There are other electronic counter measures like the AN/SLQ-32. I believe this was the ECM that brought off course the ASCM threat last year off the Yemeni coast. Obviously the USN don't comment on such matters - just my speculation.

PS. Just noticed this article is old news but still relevant as a discussion point.

It gets fired to a distance and then does its extended flight hovering away from the ship's movement. It is superior to that octagonal thing because it has greater degree of separation in a shorter period of time to draw away missiles through its electronic seduction signature.

Watch you tube below as it will become obvious.
