I'm a bit surprised to see the windows on the 039C's sail

Was under the impression that windows had been replaced by cameras for pressure reasons in submarines in general
A submarine's sail is almost always a flooded area so windows are perfectly fine.

Yes. The lack of fairwater planes means it is a Kilo. Also, I was going to mention that its sail shape was not compatible with a 039C/improved 039B (I wish we had the official designations!) either.

Found this on my Twitter today. Looks like at least one of China's early Kilo sub had been decommissioned and is now being dismantled.
