...and I do not oversetimate AWACS or EW...they are proven to be significant force multipliers....on either side. If the PLAN and PLAAF come at a US carrier, they will have to get through the toughest EW environment on earth.

I do not believe they have enough of the new fighters yet, and that they would not want to risk lossing so many of them. I believe it will be several years before they reach a point where they are...but that is just my opinion.

Anyhow, like I said...I hope it never comes to that.

China probably needs to wait until J-xx comes out to really accomplish all of that. Look, I'm not saying that America doesn't have the will to continue a war, but rather that I don't see America getting involved in a war, if it sees the possibility of loosing a carrier group. However, if China was to invade now, US would come over for sure, because it has the ability to take out most of China's new equipment without loosing much.

All China needs is about 24 956EM destroyers and 24 051C Destroyers, along with maybe a dozen Kilos and you can kiss the CVG good-bye. The 956EMs can destroy any surface ship as well as having 48 SAMs, while the 051C is a dedicated AA destroyer. The Kilos can be tasked with elimanating USN submarines.

you are putting a lot of trust in the kilos and the 956EM destroyers. What China needs is more yuan class subs instead of the song subs that it is producing in bunches. It also needs more 052Ds and 054As and a whole bunch of FACs to annoying Americans.

Yes, Yuans will work much better than Kilos. But the 956EM is argueably the best surface-to-surface combatant currently in service. It is more deadly at the surface-to-surface role than the Aegis cruisers.

hmm, then why am I keep on thinking that the Russians had even better surface-to-surface destroyers then? I guess we just need to get better ASMs to be equipping on 956EM. We need something that has more range than sunburn. Try to get the klub missiles and put them on it. That should be 300 KM range right there.

.......Kilo against an LA class sub? Are you kidding, that's like taking a knife to a gunfight. No stand off ASW for Kilo? Your torpedo's are giving up a huge range difference and you have no CZ3 capable sonar. Can you say dead Kilo?

There's is not Army Rangers in the Canadian Army. The Rangers is a surveilliance program that is supposed to keep the Sovremny of Canada on the North. They're a part of the Reserve but are not allowed to take part to military action, they are more a kind of territorial police. And no, the M-16 cannot kill a bear, don't forget, the 5,56 NATO is a modified .22 Extra LR

..........Yes they are Coastal surveillence and also Search and Rescue, but also skilled Mountain and snow troops. They can also serve in the regular military if they wish. BTW the 5.56 was created by Remington's research based on the .222 Remington, a renouned target rifle cartridge. Remington produced two concepts. A .222 Magnum that was larger but at a slightly lower pressure, and the .223 Remington, which was higher pressure but not as long. The USA chose the .223 Remington for standardization...............

Uh, the 956E uses Sunburns (Moskit), but the 956EM uses the Yakont. The Yakont has a range of over 250km. Also, the 956EM can carry 16 Yakont launchers, versus the 8 Sunburn launchers of the 956E.

Except the 956EM have the lattest Russian radar and electronic countermeasures, as well as conventional countermeasures. As for speed, the 956EM might not be the fastest of ships, but it is fast enough for its mission. Its not like a FAC or anything like that.
