This is really a "Do nothing, win" moment. The thing will never get built but that doesn't mean they won't shovel billions into the furnace for it.
37 RMA SPY-6
Indeed. I would not expect the antennas to be any smaller than the SPY-7 fitted on JMSDF ASEV. One source claimed the SPY-7 to be 5mx4.2m, significantly larger than the 37 RMA SPY-6 on the FLIII Burkes. That information comes directly from NAVSEA, so I suppose we are intended to take it seriously. But the 37 RMA AN/SPY-6(V)1 AMDR is what is fitted to Burke III right now. Installing the same radar on a dramatically larger ship delivered ~15 years later makes no sense whatsoever, particularly given that fitting a larger and more powerful radar is probably the most single compelling justification for building a larger ship in the first place.
,Why don’t they put a massive battering ram on it while they are at it?
Jai Murica!!!!
Well, this is almost as delusional like most Indian claims.
Anyway they are just nearly able to fill their existing VLS with their missiles production, adding more would be an headache.
