Turkish drone-maker, BAYKAR Defence, introduced the unmanned aircraft MIUS (means Muharip Insansiz Ucak Sistemi-Combat Unmanned Aircraft System) on 20th July on Twitter. They made the announcement on the first day of Eid, and declared it as a gift.

That’s what we were discussing, that doesn’t say that Turkey is looking to build and operate a full CV by the end of the 2030s, they are just going to repurpose the TGC Andolu and her sister ship into a drone ship which still retains the well deck, making it more of a LHA style ship.

I don’t think Turkey needs one, at least not in the near future.
Realistically they wouldn’t be able to operate one nor have the desire to, they’ll stick with multiple of the L400 LHDs as it would best suit operations in the Aegean Sea, a full sized carrier would only be relatively safe if it were able to make it to the Mediterranean. A full sized carrier just isn’t a priority for Turkey since it doesn’t project power well in their region and they have no intention on projecting power abroad.

It was said by the President during the launching of the 'Istanbul' frigate. Aircraft carrier project will start after the delivery of the Anadolu LHD. According to him the negotiations have started.

Don't think they can bring there much to the table as carriers.
As landing/command ships - perhaps, but only if the most unlikely opponent (hush-hush) is completely broken. Which, given relative parity in forces, is kinda unlikely.

In larger Mediterranean or perhaps beyond - sure.

I think what we are seeing is the perhaps the wishful thinking of acquiring a full carrier similar to the ottomans desires to operate a fleet of dreadnaughts. Although they may express some interest I doubt it will ever come about, in my opinion I think they will stick with the L-400 platform and focus on sea control through drones and amphibious landings on a potential adversaries island chain, as opposed to operating a large fleet carrier than they don’t have aircraft for.

Turkey is extending its influence all over the world. A carrier comes very handy in such a situation.
