What some still refer to Gökdogan-ER was a phase-II development to increase the range to 100+ km from the original 65+ km.
We got that 65+ km range figure because the inception of the GÖKTUĞ project (Gökdoğan BVR/Bozdoğan VWRAAM) began with the TuAF's need to replace its AMRAAM-Bs, which were procured in relatively large quantities and were at the end of their service life. That's where the '65 km' figure comes from, because those missiles have a range of 65 km, whereas Gökdoğan's figure refers to its 'effective range (mind you, not the NEZ!). However, as Gökdoğan got developed, it became more of an AMRAAM-C5/C7 analogue and has been reported to have a similar range (the former head of the SSB once revealed on TV by mistake that its actual range was over 100+ km).
In the recent BVRAAM launch test of the Kızılelma, the missile shot down a target drone from 30 nmi away, which is roughly the same operational range as AMRAAM-Cs.
We have no recent updates on the fate of the Gökdoğan-ER, which is an AMRAAM-D equivalent. But logic dictates that it must be under development to bridge the gap between the C5-equivalent Gökdoğan and the ramjet-propelled Gökbora (as well as the even longer-ranged, inherently larger ramjet Gökhan).
