Turkey and Spain in talks for defense cooperation including a second 'carrier' after the TCG Anadolu LHD.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Spanish President Pedro Sanchez Perez-Castejon held a joint press conference after their tete-a-tete meeting at the Presidential Complex and the Intergovernmental Summit Session.

During the press conference, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made important statements regarding the defense industry cooperation between the two countries. Erdogan; He emphasized that there are steps that the two countries can take together in the fields of aircraft carrier, UAV, UCAV and AKINCI UCAV.

President Erdogan's statements are as follows:

“Our first aircraft carrier is not actually large-scale, we will build the large-scale one now from now on. We are already in agreement with my dear friend on this matter. Hopefully, we are aiming to build a large aircraft carrier after the current aircraft carrier, and maybe we will also have the opportunity to enter the submarine event. (...) We built the aircraft carrier together with Spain and we are now launching it, but we hope that now we want to do a much bigger one with Spain again"

And another one:

Optical Communication System export from STM to Ukraine in Ada class corvette project.

Optical Communication Systems provide an unpredictable, non-resting and unmistakable communication opportunity underwater between divers/SAT teams and divers/SAT teams and submarines, and between surface ships above water.

Picture of a piece of the midsection for the MMU/TF:

"Here's the biggest piece of MMU I also saw the largest piece produced for the MMU in the private security complex that was created. The piece with a width of 5.3 and a length (height) of 1.6 meters provides the wing-body connection of the aircraft. The piece will be located in the middle fuselage of the aircraft."

Interesting, It seems that the fighter will use tandem weapons bays like the Su-57.

Wow! :D ... it finally shows some results!

Congrats for this but is this already one for the prototype or a test-item?

I think it is a mock-up of a real bulkhead with a small (milled) test bulkhead right in front of it. Nothing to get our hopes up too high and I think it's also quite an old pic that has somehow resurfaced.

I think its a picture taken during the defense ministers' visit to TAI on the 21st november of last year:

Akaer Group is responsible for developing parts of Turkish advanced trainer HÜRJET.

Akaer participates in the HÜRJET program, of the Turkish Aerospace Industry (TAI), and brings news to “Dubai Airshow”. The national company is concluding the development of the structure and systems of the aft fuselage of the first prototype of the new aircraft. Internationally recognized, Akaer is present at the fair together with aerospace and defense industries from around the world.

The HÜRJET is an advanced training and light attack aircraft for two occupants in a tandem configuration. Capable of operating at supersonic speeds and equipped with modern avionics, it was designed to meet the demand for trainers capable of preparing pilots for the challenges brought by the new 5th generation fighter jets.

TAI selected Akaer as a partner for the development and detailing of the structural design, structural calculation and installation of rear fuselage systems, parts of the central fuselage and installation of the HÜRJET empennages due to the recognized expertise already demonstrated in similar programs.

“The biggest challenge in this project was to review the design and have all the documentation for the first prototype released in an extremely challenging timeframe. Meeting this challenge was only possible due to the large amount of baggage accumulated in the development of complex aeronautical products for the defense, executive and civil aviation sectors, serving large OEM's such as Embraer and Saab. Our history of success in similar programs and a qualified team allows us to make commitments and overcome technical challenges while meeting established schedules”, highlighted the VP of Operations (COO) Fernando Ferraz.

This project required the engagement of a significant team of engineers and technicians specialized in the areas of structural analysis, structures and systems design, systems engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality and certification, working in an integrated manner with teams from both companies located in the offices in Brazil and Turkey.

“The volume of work was quite significant, especially considering several trips in the midst of a pandemic that practically paralyzed countries and made it extremely difficult for the teams to move. But, with seriousness and responsibility, we overcome this challenge and, best of all, guaranteeing the safety and integrity of everyone involved. We are finalizing the last documents of the first prototype and we are going to start studies for the second one, always looking for the improvement and optimization of the product”, highlighted Ferraz.

Turkey is fast becoming a very important player in the defense market, with a preponderant focus on capacity building and development of the local industry, always having as reference the highest technological standards. Within this scenario, the selection of Akaer as TAI's preferred technological partner in its most important projects is a great honor and crowns the company's internationalization efforts, which has established itself as an important supplier of integrated solutions.

Haluk Bayraktar met with the Ukrainian chief of staff:

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny met with the General Director of the Turkish company Vaykar Makina Khalyuk Bayraktar.
During the meeting they discussed the establishment of a permanent working group on unmanned aerial vehicles in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The talks were announced on Thursday, November 18, by the press service of the main committee.

"Bayraktar TB2 drone systems have proven their effectiveness, including in the area of the Joint Forces operation. Therefore, we continue to increase the tactics and methods of their combat use to deter Russian aggression and protect the interests of Ukraine. I thank Mr. Halyuk Bayraktar for his support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and openness to further cooperation. I am glad that we spoke the same language, because we have a common vision of the potential for the development and use of unmanned aerial vehicles, "Zaluzhny wrote.

He added that the company plans to continue production of the latest generation of Akinci drones, which are fitted with Ukrainian engines.
Baykar Makina is working on the construction and installation of a joint training and testing center for maintenance, current repairs and modernization of UAVs. It also provides for the training of personnel involved in the operation of Bayraktar unmanned aerial vehicles, a memorandum of which was signed between Ukraine and Turkey on September 29, 2021.
