That’s true. Is the damage beyond repair? Will Canada, EU etc… give up on America and sign free trade agreements with China instead?First of all Japan lost a war, unfair deals are kind of par for the course, so this is irrelevant to the discussion
At this point in time, they were still viewing the US as an ally, and an important distinction here is that the US was a reliable ally. The reliable part is now basically gone
Again, reiterating, at that point in time a reliable ally. Plus, share secrets of the present pretty much means nothing for an industry like semiconductors, by the time those trade secrets can be implemented, thing would have moved on.
Sure, they probably would be making deals but so what? Not like the deals will mean anything, since the US has shown it will just rip that up like nothing. Whatever deals that will be cut the US will probably have to breed some.
I like how you think but the important part here is threats, the views on the US have been deteriorating for some time and pulling this sh*t, things are not going to be back status quo. The US had the most important weapon over China, which was trust, the ROW didn’t trust China and they at least trusted the US but now that it’s gone, I think you will find out that just because they are there to negotiate, the negotiation will not be anything like before.
They haven’t. They called and said would like to negotiate. To not be tariffed, they going to give up on somethings right.
