I think you are missing a massive issue in bending the knee scenario, in order for that to happen there must be an upside, which frankly is completely non-existent by everything that Trump and his administration has shown so far.

Bending the knee means paying to sell, which means they will literally be making a loss in order to do business, that is completely and utterly ridiculous, this result is essentially set in stone from all the statements and signals being projected.

The other option is an unknown, tho we can infer that there will be a lot of pain to bear, but at least the chances of having some upside isn’t 0.

So the equation is pretty simple, they have more to potentially lose even if they bend the knee, so unless you can articulate a reason other than ‘trust me bro’ your assertion is basically moot.
Again..what makes you think they won’t bend knee.

Japan signed the plaza accord.

Germany and EU literally sabotaged their own economies when we told them to get off of Russian gas, cut Huawei, Chinese investments, etc…..

Korea sharing semiconductor trade secrets with U.S. because we asked.

So yea, they coming to kiss the ring soon. One by one. Win after win. Just by getting them to drop tariffs is already a win.

Reading wallstreet reddit is absolute cinema. People who held stock, lost. People who shorted, lost. The only ones who won were Trump's pals with the inside track. Hilarious to observe from the outside perspective, seeing just how much of a sham stock market really is.

Because there is no clear definition of that. Did they give something very valuable to help the US (do they even have such a thing), or did they give some gesture and get by? Right now, Trump just understood he can't handle everyone together so he cut all of them loose to 10%, group deal, to focus on China LOL. And now he's going to be reminded of why he lost the first trade war even though he already tried just focusing on China.
Japan signed the plaza accord.
Japan's militarily colonized by the US since WWII
Germany and EU literally sabotaged their own economies when we told them to get off of Russian gas, cut Huawei, Chinese investments, etc…..
They did that when Brandon was in charge and wasn't threatening them.
Korea sharing semiconductor trade secrets with U.S. because we asked.
They know you're too incompetent to use them anyway. If not, America, with full access to the world's tools, should already be a lithography superpower. Instead, it's a cheerleader. The future of semiconductors has been Chinese eversince the US took apart the global chain. ASML and TSMC working together pumping cheap and good chips into China was the only thing holding China down. Now not only has that been banned, ASML and TSMC are both being disrupted by America. America basically cleared a path for a Chinese future in litography.

Trump got nothing out of them and let them all out together. Didn't even have the time to name names.
My bet is China and U.S. will eventually sit down and do some kind of deal.
They will. But it will not be the deal that Trump wanted to bully China into. Knowing he failed, they will do a deal that puts things close to where they were before with some small adjustments and Trump will tell everyone it's a huge victory and all the MAGA people who cheered when Trump tried to bully Canada will buy it because that's how stupid Trump supporters are.
