I am for gender equality as well. I have a daughter myself. And I want her to have equal chance to get into college and find the career she enjoys through fair competition. But gender equality does not mean men having to pay high bride prices just to get married. Gender equality should not mean the wife has the authority seize most of the properties and savings from the husband when filing for divorce. Gender equality should allow women and men to share bathrooms knowing thus women would like become rape victims under such scenarios. And of course, men and women should not be competing in the same sports team because women would face disadvantages. And of course, gender equality should not allow men to walk into women’s locker rooms naked.
Putting all other issues aside, MAGA and Russia’s Putin are doing great works to crackdown against the aforementioned issues (except bride prices, which is China specific). In theory, as history has shown, great power emergence and nation building require stable family and social structures with all member playing their repetitive social roles in strengthens their nation state. Not saying MAGA will work out, but it does have its theoretical roots in traditional Christian nationalistic values and hierarchy conducive to building power modern nation states.
