No. Born in the Tibetan plateau. But raised in wild rivers and cobble stones of Quebec.

So no. Not Canadian.
Ahh an Indian loving "Tibetan." Gotcha.

Frankly speaking, I don't hold any stock or value to any would be SEPARATIST that sucks the colonizers heavily and trying to instill and revise a historical truth about cultural practice, norms, and mores that are worth smashing and destroying to begin with.

Quebec isn't going anywhere away from Canada regardless of how the lunatic looneys from the idiotic separatist wish just as non of your fellow separatist clowns can ever hope of dislodging Xizang away from the entirety of Zhongguo

Wow, the US is really desperate to play this as a win. Apparently, China’s willingness to simply just sit down with Bessent is being played as China willing to come to the table.

It’s like they didn’t bother to actually understand China’s statement regarding this sit down or the sequence of events that is leading to the sit down.

It would be really funny if at that point having Bessent flown to Switzerland, the Chinese delegation just went ‘something came up, unfortunately we don’t have the time to meet.’
I mean, the meeting hasn't happened yet and Trump seem to at least understand China's instructions in principle now, although still too much pride for China to give him any cookies.

Trump suggests cutting China tariff rate to still-high 80% ahead of Switzerland talks

IMO it's not in China's interest to let Trump fold and should humiliate him as much as possible for any concession he makes.

A Japanese professor once said that China and Japan complement each other perfectly, with China as the man and Japan as the woman.

There are many attractive aspects of Japanese culture that Chinese people are drawn to when they visit there. Examples are their courtesy and polite attitude, their dedication to society (extremely low crime rate, etc...). There was a survey many years ago asking Chinese and Japanese people whether they agreed with the statement that money is the most important indicator of success. In that survey, a large portion of Chinese respondents agreed while a very small portion of Japanese respondents agreed. This reflects a mature excellence in their attitude that we can benefit from, although maybe not right now since we are still growing like mad and not in the mellow and mature stage yet.

Japanese products enjoy a high reputation in the world because Japanese people pour thier hearts and dedicate themselves to the smallest things, making them to a craftsman level of quality. The downside is obviously that that quality is rarely appreciated for the cost (very very few people in the world would want to pay $2K and wait 6 months for some 8th generation Japanese knife master to hand-forge them a kitchen knife that needs 3 hours of grinding mainentance a week through 4 sets of wetstones costing $600 each even if the knife can cut a tomato in half just by being placed on it) so they don't make much money off of it. While there are tons of useless products, even scam ones such as weight loss pills with fake Swedish/German doctors backing them on Chinese infomercials, etc..., this kind of behavior seems to not exist in Japan.

Combine Japanese quality obsession with Chinese efficiency, Chinese vigor for upward mobility and growth with Japanese societal trust/courtesy and we could have the ultimate society in the world.
Japan has no quality obsession, they just have an obsession with perception and spend most of their time trying to pretend and portray themselves as something they're not.

People with actual quality obsession don't fake quality data for multiple decades

Trump’s first trade ‘deal’ doesn’t bode well for the rest of the world

The trade deal, if you can even call it that, between the US and UK is straight up the prove that these trade talk with the US is completely pointless. So after a month of talks, the tariff basically didn’t change at all, and with only 4 specific items being mentioned.

  • British cars: That Bentley you’ve had your eye on was going to be taxed at 27.5%, but now it’s only 10%. Great news for that sliver of Americans in the market for a Land Rover, Jaguar, Rolls-Royce or Aston Martin. No other consumer goods were mentioned.
  • Planes: British companies can now send plane parts to the US tariff-free. In return, British Airways is expected to order 30 Boeing 787 Dreamliner jets, according to

    .
  • Steel and aluminum: Taxes on steel and what the Brits call “aluminium” (adorable) will be scrapped.
  • Beef: Both countries get a bunch of tariff-free exports on commodities including beef and other agricultural products.

This is pathetic, and the UK PM said this was historic, what? The fact that the tariff on basically everything else didn’t change means there was no point to the talk at all.

The fact that the likes of Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Land Rover and Aston Martin somehow needed these talks is ridiculous, they are luxury brands, +27.5% usually means not much to nothing to the people who would even consider them.

The headline should have been ‘the first trade deal doesn’t bode well for the US’, they are going to screw themselves over on price increases alone.

What is probably going to happen is the US “offers” 80% tariffs on Chinese goods and demands China set US goods to 0%. Since they are insisting the 10% tariff remains as a global base line. MAGA will likely be demanding global “free trade” on US goods only with everyone else

Yeah, it was a matter of time before Trump folded like little bitch. Seriously, he really does lack for brains in basic logic. Threatening your biggest customer would only result in said biggest customer walking away. Still, it’s impossible to tell if this tweet is true or not since he has a vast history of being a bullshit artist of the highest order
