Here are the four regions that will hold referendums to join Russia. In the meantime, a partial mobilization will start. After the referendums, conscripted but already trained troops will move in for defense, because according to the Russian constitution, conscripted troops are allowed in Russia's own territory. Then the newly mobilized troops will be trained in a few months. Russia's professional/volunteer troops now can be used for attacking into Ukrainian areas if necessary.

Looks like Kadyrov spilled the beans on what Putin's speech is going to be about. From his telegram channel:

All. Let's move on to a new tactic of a special operation against the Ukronazis. We are not going to deal with them anymore. I discussed all the details with Magomed Daudov

, Chief of the Operational Headquarters of the Chechen Republic for conducting NMD . The enemy will soon face the most difficult consequences for himself of the new plan of retribution.

All our previous actions will now seem like childish pranks to them. Bandera, you have a compressed time left for rest, then it will be very, very bad. Take these words as you like, treat them as you please, but remember them just as you memorized the slogan "AKHMAT - POWER". Only those who will treat this message as an unkind sign for themselves and make balanced conclusions for salvation will be lucky. Get ready and keep your eyes peeled.
Not the first time the Russians have claimed the gloves are off, hopefully this time it really does happen.

I find it strange how Russia achieved more with its Iranian drones in a single week than Ukriane did with the switchblade weeks for half a year.

Lack of training or is the drone itself so bad?
Looks like this has mainly been answered by others.

I'll add one more take to it. I think Switchblade-300 and Phoenix Ghost are difficult to use because it's low altitude and such a short range with only 10 minute endurance in the air. You can't use it for scouting, compared to Shahed-136 which can stay airborne for half a day.

Switchblades would work best if it's paired with a MALE drone and use it's wide field of view to search for targets. TB-2 comes to mind, but for whatever reason they have been rendered pretty ineffective the past months. I also think Shahed-136 would perform best paired with a MALE, UCAV type drone as well. They can scout to find targets for the Shahed, and then do follow-up strikes on those targets as necessary. This looks like the tactic the Azeri army use with their TB-2s and Harops against Armenia. Russia should think about acquiring these types of drones from Iran, or maybe they can try getting TB-2 from Turkey.

Switchblade news: Ukraine looks like they'll be getting the Switchblade 600, which would be the anti-armor version with longer range. But looks like only 10 drones so far.

KIEV, September 21. /TASS/. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said Kiev’s stance and goals will remain unchanged despite the announcement about upcoming referendums in the people’s republics of Donetsk and Luganks (DPR and LPR), the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.

"Our positions are not changed by noise and announcements from somewhere, and our partners fully support us on that," Zelensky said in a video address.

"Our positions are clearly defined and well known, and this is what we should focus on. Our task is what is happening somewhere, but not something declared somewhere," he went on, calling for "more support for the armed forces of Ukraine, more support for the intelligence, more support for the special operation forces, more support for the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Guard, police, border guards."

Speaker of the LPR People’s Council (legislature) Denis Miroshnichenko said on Tuesday that the referendum on unifying with Russia will be held in the republic on September 23-27. Later, DPR head Denis Pushilin also announced that such a referendum will be held in the DPR in the same period. The referendums on joining Russia in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions will also be organized on the same dates.

An episode of the battle in Ukraine showing the armor of the T-72 tank. In the video, the Russian T-72 tank, having received a blow from the Ukrainian ATGM, continued to move and did not leave the battlefield.

Ukrainian servicemen showed a home-made device for dropping 82 mm mines from drones. The device allows you to equip the drone with six mines.

The defeat of the BMP-1 of the Ukrainian army, moving at maximum speed. The BMP of Ukraine was destroyed in the battles in the Kherson direction, by soldiers of the 76th division of the Russian Airborne Forces.

Footage of the combat work of the Russian crew of the T-80BVM tank in Ukraine. In the video, the crew fires at the infantry of the Ukrainian army through the Sosna-U sight. The Sosna-U multi-channel sight has a sighting, thermal imaging and rangefinding channel, as well as a missile control channel. The tank commander's sight is connected to the gunner's sight by an optical channel and allows the commander to carry out target designation.

A Ukrainian tank and a Russian drone attack each other. Unusual footage of the battle in Ukraine, if you can call it that, appeared on the network. The crew of a Ukrainian T-64BV tank noticed a Russian drone attacking it, the attack was carried out by dropping grenades and ammunition on the tank. The tankers managed to close the hatch of the tank and after a while drove off to the side, after which they got out of the tank and tried to shoot down the drone with small arms.

First time in what. It wasn't the first time Ukraine did a counter offensive in Kharkov and the Russian forces were pushed all the way to the Russian border. Are you already forgetting those antics where the Ukrainians filmed themselves with the border fence post?
The previous offensives were not remotely as successful as this latest one has been...
