The War in the Ukraine

You mean Russian invasion is continune to lose it's steam?

Btw, according various reports 200-300km range missiles are now in use so this could be a taste of thkngs to come, Russian ammo dumbs aren't safe anymore even if put 100km away from frontlines, and now Ukraine is getting longer range western SAMs like NASAMS making thing even more difficult for Russians.

Fact that Ukraine can now target Russian airfields and heliports is bad new for Russians.
They've been losing steam since the get go according to the usual suspects, yet all I have seen is Ukraine continuing to lose ground and suffer what seems to be higher casualties than the usual sources would like to admit.

For all the western 'optimism' about the whole scenario, or should I say wishful thinking, it's just been a constant stream of cope.

Despite the 'catastrophic equipment losses', the hits on fuel dumps, ammo dumps, the new invincible donated western weapons systems that break down after heavy use, latest photo ops (which there seem to be less and less of), etc. etc., Russia still keeps gaining ground and making wins, city after city.

I hope you're not into trading stocks, as what you have is chronic hopium syndrome, where you just ignore evidence and cannot let go of a bad trade.

Edit: I just want to ask, where do you think things will be in six months time from now?
Because based on western 'projections' from Feb, Russia would be in deep doodoo by now, with Putin gone and their economy imploding.

The only advantage to the NASAMS is the Link-16 which could theoretically get contacts through the AWACS sitting within NATO territory. But you still need a fire control radar to guide them until the missile's own guidance takes over.

But still is a limited system as all AD systems derived from Air-to-Air missiles are. Even what's left of Ukraine's Buks are overall a better system when it comes to mobility and range

Also there is the fact we don't know if the US will even allow the Ukranians to deploy them close to the frontlines. At 50km tops in the best conditions possible and semi-fixed launchers, they don't really give you a lot of coverage

Russian military is incapable of destroying incoming missiles and now since Ukraine has received AGM-88 they don't know if the blip on radar screen is real target or something whats send to make them turn on their systems.

You make it sound as if this isn't a two way street and Russia doesn't have Kh-31P with twice the range of the NASAMS

Russian regular military driving around in ancient T-72AV tanks and non-upgraded BMP-1's

Gonna guess the T-72B3 and the trainloads of T-80BV we have seen the past few weeks were fake news. On the other hand, the Ukranians are running around in what's left of Poland's worse and shoddier version of the T-72A, and they are about to mount a counteroffensive and retake all the land they have lost since February because they got a dozen of HIMARS?.

Well, then I guess in your opinion the prospects of the PLA taking over Taiwan aren't that good, either. I mean, they'll have the mighty Abrams, Patriots, Apaches, Javelins, Hellfires, etc.

What's funny @Janiz? Please provide a response if you have any facts-based points for disagreeing with any of the above.

Otherwise, I will have to take offense to your laughing at the plight of those poor, poor Ukrainians.

Kiev is now saying their mythical counteroffensive is now part of a disinformation campaign.

The Ukrainian army began to use US AGM-88 HARM anti-radar missiles. The remains of one of the missiles were found at the positions of Russian troops in the Donbass. The missile entered service in 1983 and is capable of targeting high-frequency radars even if they turn off or change frequencies. The length of the rocket is about 4 meters, the diameter is 250 millimeters. With such dimensions, the EPR of the rocket is not small, therefore, they should be easily detected by air defense systems. The missile is designed to be launched only from aircraft, perhaps in Ukraine, handicraft ground installations were created for launching.

But what platform Ukr have that can launch HARM? Modified su-24 / 25 mig-29??? I am puzzled.
