That a lot of helos...nd they clearly did not all come from two or three LPDs.

So, we're seeing a Joint Operation that is probably working with more distant land bases along with the LPDs.

Each of those LPDs might put three loaded...ma of four loaded helos onto the landing area. Also two or three LCACs..again, a max of four each.

But we have not seen any of their LCACs loaded with mechanized equipment yet

Anyhow, doing a Joint Op is a good thing to exercise and test as well...and that's what we are seeing here.

And yes, quite sure big majority of Army's helos in more only to have Mi-8/17/171 ( in fact Navy have only 4 Mi-8 ) Z-9 Navy have but Army much more and seeing the number about 30 mainly from land bases, China have " only " 4 Type 071 for host Trp helos.

High-resolution photos of Yuyi at a recent amphibious assault exercise... To date, I have seen few photos of Yuyi carrying any meaningful payload. In most photos, they sail around empty (such as these). To be honest, I find this rather disappointing. One would think that by now the PLAN should be working them a bit harder.

If it was disappointing it would be ok it's beyond that

It's really bad

These are LCAC are only good for transporting fresh air

Brings into question entire amphibious capability

not sure if a MBT is "meaningful"? but you're absolutely right, most pictures showed no payload at all...

But it's not carrying that into and out of the LPD

That photo is from years ago

Honestly I would rather see Type 726 loading into and out of the well deck with 3 x IFV rather than see Type 054B next generation FFG

Those thrusters are causing some serious manoeuvring issues when loaded LCAC navigates the well deck

I find this entire class disappointing, TBH. A vessel the same size as the LCAC but can only carry 1/3 of the cargo (by volume).

I don't think that is true Yuyi is bigger and longer than their US counterpart We have been through this t before
It is optical illusion that they are the same dimension It is not!

What would be the likely explanation for this lack of payload?

They've invested a lot of resources in building the existing units. That would imply that they have made some kind of a commitment.

If they don't have confidence in their equipment, they would not have committed.

Could it because that they don't want people to know how much the payload is? So they only show photos of those empty ones. Just a wild guess though.

You show me a fanboi CGI as some kind of proof that the Yuyi is bigger and longer? ROFLMAO

First of all, I'm not trying to say that they EXACTLY the same size, just approximately the same size. Second, that fakeass graphic is patently wrong to begin with since it shows a length of "33m", so how can 4 of them fit into a 071 well deck that measures 120m?

Show me a picture with 4 Yuyi in LPD then I will retract my post! Until then stop spreading the lie that Yuyi can only have 1/3 load of US LCAC
the burden of proof is on you and not keep mouthing ad nauseum your own prejudice and bias
