No. It is disturbing because I heard absolutely nothing about it. It is like an information blackhole. I don’t even know when the thing ended. Usually this information is available.
Is this a good thing or a bad thing for either China and or Taiwan? Am sorry for asking what is perhaps a stupid question.

China would have neither Outer Mongolia, Tibet, nor Xinjiang under ROC rule.
but is that really true though?? considering ROC still have a map that includes the "correct" Chinese territories which is inherited from the Qing, including outer mongolia, tannu wulianghai (tuva), outer tibet, outer xinjiang/pamir, jiang xin po, changbaishang heavenly lake, 11 dash line etc etc.
The partial/complete loss of these territories are indeed heartbreaking, so is what you are saying true?? that we are already in the "better" course of history right now??

I can draw a map that stakes claim to the Alpha Centauri system but I have no power to enforce my claim. I think you get the picture here.

China would emerge as a strong regardless of it was under the ROC or PRC. Ultimately, what made China strong is traits inherent to it's civilization. Both paths will be fraught and filled with its own upsides/downsides. But China finds its own path to grow strong.

In the annals of history a couple of centuries from today, ROC & PRC will be considered together as largely a single period, much like Qin & Han or Sui & Tang, where Qin or Sui was a short-lived dynasty, a prelude to the real thing: a long-lasting, strong and prosperous dynasty/period that rises to the pinnacle of the world.

Ok, we are way off topic now. The scarcity of Taiwan military news has taken its toll ...

More like the sixteen dynasties/Northern and Southern dynasties before Sui/Tang. ROC only had nominal control over all of China. Different warlords essentially ran their own countries.
