You guys have a talented young lady. Hopefully she make it big in the senior WTA tour. I watched her match, I think she has a good game and her movement and ball hitting looks solid. What do you think of her potential? Heard she is already talented at very young age.
Thanks bro, She is the niece of Philippine Sports Commission chairperson and former Philippine Basketball Association commissioner Noli Eala, so she has the pedigree and the fortunate one, due to poverty the only possible talent we can produce are boxers and point guards...lol Man!!! the Filipinos loves basketball, there are so many illegal street courts around the metropolis and one of the reason for the huge traffic...lol When I was growing up I used to play street ball and IF you survived the physical aspect even though its half court you'll shine playing in school intrams and varsity....lol

Yes I think the new female coach zheng wei really brought the team to a higher level since the Olympics. Yao was actually in Sydney and watched their games. While I don't know how much input or influence he have directly on the women's team. I am hoping the men's team can also see the same improvement.

I didn't realize there are still foreign coaches in the Chinese national team setup. I thought they went in other direction. They use to hire mostly foreign head coaches back during the days when Yao was still playing. But now the head coaches for both men's and womens teams are Chinese.

The men's team used to coached by Lithuanian during Yao days, I think they experimented with both euro and NBA styles.
Bro the new generation of Chinese men basketball players are getting taller and more athletic, the problem we're facing is that US and European are not sitting idle, they're moving the goal post. So capturing the Asia crown is the best thing we can achieve and its getting harder due to influx of imports and we can't beat the likes of New Zealand, Qatar, Lebanon and NOT the least the Asian powerhouse Australia. Need to go back to basic and discard the American system and go all European. :)

I see. I didn't know that. Interesting background. There was alot of support for her during her US open match. Seem like she has good close knit family.

I think you guys have good male gymnast too. I forgotten his name though. As for basketball, I think a good domestic league will help and to nurture young talent, play in nbaor top euro league and help the national team. I don't enough about basketball to comment more

Chinese mens gymnastics team just won the teams competition at the world championships in Liverpool. And earned direct qualifications to Paris Olympics games 2024. Well done. They messed up qualifying round, ended in 4th place but stormed through the final to grab gold, beating arch rivals Japan.

The womens team didn’t do well yesterday. They placed 6th.
